Hi peeps,
We are about to have some extension work done on the house and need to vacate for a couple of weeks most likely before Easter. As most sites don't open till Easter, I was wondering, is there a directory of uk campsites which open throughout the year?
We could 'camp' on the driveway but due to the noise etc. we would prefer to get away in the van, weather permitting, somewhere in the North Yorkshire area would be preferable. Does anyone know an open all year site that they could recommend?
Many thanks in advance, Bob & Dee

Its quite a big county, give us a town to centre on and there should be a few options.

Unclebob, as suggested above the C & CC have a site near to the A1 at Boroughbridge within walking distance of large Morrisons supermarket. Good site but prone to flooding (River adjacent) I think some parts of the site are higher

Not too fussed Martin, we live in York so everywhere is within an hours drive if we have to return home for any reason
Somewhere we can take the hounds, with disabled facilities would be preferable due to my youngest having walking difficulties and a local'ish shop & pub is always a bonus.... Whitby is a favorite but we do like to explore new places :thumb:

Cheers will take a nosey at this one but with all the high tides and rising river levels at the mo, we will probably be putting this on the reserve list :roflmto:

Hi Bob

Caravan club whitewater park at Stockton if you want all the services, got shops, bowling, cinema and Pizza on the retail park about 1mile.

We go to a CL near Harrogate in the winter as it has hard standing, toilet but no other facilities. Bus stop at the end of the drive to Ripon,Leeds,Knaresborough etc.

There is a CL near Staindrop with shower and toilet block but shops are a couple of miles away.

Go to www.ukcampsite.co.uk
Click map for location you require , left hand side says type of site, click open all year. There's about 20 within 1/2 of York City centre:thumb:
