Andy,

Trikeman's review seemed to highlight that the maps were up to date. If buying from Navibuzz, I think they give you access to a website, for free map update downloads.
They did recently announce that their latest units came with the 2012 maps, unlike their previous units.

I've decided to give it a punt, and bought from Navibuzz, as linked by Trikeman. The resulting email confirmation shows clearly that you are purchasing from.....

To save me the trouble of going back through all the previous postings or downloading the manual, can somebody tell me if routes can be plotted on a PC before transferring to the Sat Nav unit?

No. There's a different Dolly Bird on the front of that one.

It appears to be the same unit, however, the one that Trikeman and Techno linked to, comes with extra accessories, including an 8Gb memory card.

No I don't think it is - no Bluetooth is the first/main thing I think is not on the one in the link, also a few accessories.

As there was no response on here to my question I contacted Navibuz who have confirmed that route planning can only be done on the unit. There is no facility for plotting the route(s) on a PC or tablet and then transferring to the unit.

I think I (we) may have misunderstood your original request - I use the satnav as a tablet to plot the route before going. It may be just me but I have never plotted a route on another tablet and then transferred it to a satnav. I am not a 'specialist' in satnavs for sure, but would this not mean you would have to have the specific satnav software on your PC/tablet also?

I'm interested in this though, what are the reasons/benefits for doing this?

Received mine yesterday. I had a drive around locally with it.

All seems good, nice clear display, all speed cameras and speed limits were spot on.:thumb:

Got a good 300 mile drive down to Bristol today to see two of my daughters, so I can compare it with the built in system in my Honda Civic.....
