I wonder how many people dont use their motorhomes for months at a time.

We use ours nearly all the year, the only time it isnt in regular use is January to mid february.

Our van is the 'guest room on the driveway' for Colin's son on 22nd & 23rd Dec, then it becomes the 'guest room on the driveway' at my mothers for the Boxing Day family get together, then we go to Cannock Chase for a couple of nights, then off to the Haggers do in Uttoxeter.

A lovely van like yours deserves to be in use all the time. Give in to temptation, you know you want to! ::bigsmile:

In use all year round.

We use the big commercial sites as they are cheap now and have some entertainment on with indoor swimming and bars.

Looks like we are the same as most others on this thread !!

When the van is in hibernation we go out in the van :ROFLMAO: :thumb:

It does not get used in December as woman likes to 'do things Christmas' and it takes a full month to get everything ready ( BIG family ! ).
During December I get a chance to catch up on some the jobs I wanted to do on the an..
Apart from that it is used all year

van not used as much Nov - Feb but is used as often as we can but not a great deal of sites open in the North of Scotland within easy reach for a weekend at this time of year. If not away it will be given a run as often as possible and as jaws says a chance to catch up on the little jobs that need doing. Away for New Year 30th - 2nd and then who knows depending on the weather.
Starting to think about where we can go in 2014 !!!!

We'd probably use it more if it was parked on the drive at home with the EHU attached but that's not possible so it lives on a storage site. The problem I find with contemplating the odd winter weekend flit is that it would take ages to de-winterise the stored van then re-winterise it after we've finished with it. We're not yet in a position to stop earning for long enough to take it on an extended trip over winter.

One year. A whole one!
Udo's in his heated undercover storage area until February.

I would dearly love to use him over Christmas but we need to spend time on a few large house projects first.

I miss him terribly, though! Poor chap sitting there. I hope he's learning English whilst he rests and I hope he's getting on with the other vehicles he shares hangar space with.

But we're planning plenty of trips for 2014 with him, so I hope there's loads to look forward to.

vehicles do not take to hibernation kindly they tend to suffer from binding brakes, stuck clutch, mice and various other problems. regular use is best to keep everything in good working order.

Ours will be back on the drive on Boxing Day in preparation for a New Year tour (still not finalised!).

If said drive was level it'd be an extra bedroom for sure....mine!

Taking my van up to Yorkshire Dales for xmas and New Year. Xmas dinner will be in my cottage at Appersett near Hawes, other than that I'll be in the area of Wensleydale and Teesdale. If you see my van parked on the green opposite my cottage drop in for a brew. Bring biscuits...I've always run out for some reason!

Hi , We use ours during the winter months just for day outings ( usually rustle something up for lunch soup or beans on toast etc) m/h is drained down for the winter so take bottle of water with us for cooking /washing up/ flushing toilet. Van kept on drive on ehu (with heater on at night) in between times.
We use to wild camp through the winter (that was when I was working needed to get away to relax) one year we camped 36 weekends & 3 x fortnights , and we then went away for new year most years, but now retired use the m/h from march to oct.

Our fourth glorious year!
Just left Edinburgh and now at Rowntrees in York.Lovely evening stroll around York and another wee saunter tommorrow. Then visit relations in Derbyshire, Portsmouth for Xmas then back to Edinburgh for Hogmany. This is why you have a motorhome. Don't leave it in storage! It's not good for the van and it's not good for you!
