I'm thinking of fitting a swivel seat base for Mrs Vlad,I've seen this one it's meant to be universal,I'm looking to fit it to a 2004 fiat Ducati based van.
Is it just a matter of un-bolting the seat, placing and bolting the base plate then bolting the seat back on top? Or would new holes have to be marked out and drilled?
Has anybody done this themselves and is there anything to watch out for ?

Thanks in advance Vlad.

Hi Vlad.
It is not a difficult job,but be warned the seat is heavy and awkward to handle once unbolted.
A round file would be useful to ensure the bolts go back in easy.

Take a look at this guide :-

While the seat is out you may find the leisure battery has been fitted under it,good idea to top it up while you can.

Just buy the correct FASP one for your cab from Rainbow Conversions.

I wouldnt use anything 'universal' where safety is involved.

Thanks Jon just looked on their website what's the FASP stand for? They're a good bit cheaper than the original seat bases.

The thing we've found with having the Swivel Base is that it lifts you a good 50mm up in the seat which, if you're tall anyway can make the seating position a bit too high and affect your line of vision.
Having said that, I still prefer Swivel Seats to the Fixed alternative.

I bought mine from O'Learys which happen to be FASP ones. Fairly easy to fit but they will lift the seat up by about 20mm.

Vlad if you fit it the wrong way round then when she moans at you it will swivel towards the door so you can kick her out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

We have them on both our front seats and had one on our last van passenger seat and made a big difference for lounging at night.
