Just looking at options to join Old-Mo for his birthday bash, looking at Brittany Ferries saw an option to join their 'Travel Club' and get up to 30% off, an obvious choice?!

Get near to completing my application they ask me for £250 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Had to come on here to calm down and share my amazement

Is it me?

Even with 30% off BF are still more expensive than the alternatives ...

One problem is I want to take my dog with me to Spain, that seems to limit options

A friend of ours comes over to ours regularly, with his dog, by LD Lines. Only a 4 hour crossing. Cost him £48 2 days ago, in his LWB Hi-top transit...

Thanks for that, trouble is if we are only going to Brittany we might as well use the Chunnel, and our dog stays with us.

Took a quick look at North Sea ferries kennels once, will never be using them :Eeek:

We've just booked the chunnel one way for January 6th with the pooch. It cost £120 but with the good old Tesco vouchers (£30 pounds worth) we only paid Eurotunnel £25 - £15 of that was for the dogs fare :thumb::thumb:

Spain membership should cost £200 in first year, £100 a year thereafter. I think you must have also applied for an associate member which is not necessary unless you intend to travel separately or in another vehicle from the associate member.

You would normally make a small saving in the first year, discount does not apply to accomodation.

I can get you 10% discount using my membership, PM me if you want the number.

BF travel club

We joined the Spain club a few months ago and I agree with Matamoros. We've only booked an outbound passage forJanuary as we aren't sure when we will come home, but even that saved us £93 and next year we won't need to pay the joining fee. I'll make the same offer as Matamoros; anyone wanting an easy 10℅ off, just send me a pm.:thumb:

Looking on the BF website they have two scheme - one for France and one for Spain. This seems a bit mean as I use both routes but am reluctant to have to join both schemes, although the French one is cheaper (£60) a year compared to the £100 for Spain - plus a joining fee for the first year of course.

Thanks for that, I misread the application form, but had been drinking so probably didn't read it in reality

Still seems a big chunk of money for a fairly small reward

many thanks for offers to use your codes, bit worried about how that works, I would expect tickets to be issued in name of holder, otherwise why does anybody buy membership?

I have read another thread today about North Sea ferries and CC offering prices half of direct booking with NSF, truly ridiculous, but worth a phone call at least

We joined the French BF Travel Club for 2013. We did 1 x Spain and 3 x France legs - it more than paid for itself even with the one-off joining fee. In 2014 we don't have to pay the joining fee.....:thumb:

Presumably you don't get any discount on the Spanish trip?
