Sorry Brian cant delete it, wont pass on any more though so dont panick:RollEyes:

No reason why you should and you posted a useful link.

All I was saying is FUN beat VOSA by a month.

I just remember posting "if you own a Swift don't accelerate too hard or you might own a convertible".

Engineer was supposed to come Tuesday, then it was yesterday and then promised for today.
Well, no phone call so far, I'm taking the dog out for a walk and it'll be dark pretty soon.
Not impressed.

Swift engineers called last night at about 5.00pm. After inspection they told me that 2 bolts were found to be missing.
Did a damp check and found 17% in one spot but I'm not too bothered by that figure as it stands, will need to keep an eye on it though.

Why not bothered ? There is no such thing as a small leak, any ingress is not right and will only get worse and your warranty is ticking away.

It's either right or it's not right, you did not pay good money for not right.

Interesting that they took a reading, that shows faith in their product.

you don't own a kon leaky do you, or do you have a swimming pool in the hab area, 17% seems high to me. Unless of course it was built using unseasoned timber.

I didn't say I wasn't bothered at all, just not too bothered, I should have added "at this stage".
I'm also keeping an eye on it as stated.
I found some information on damp percentages on this site:
Broken Link Removed

I also found this quote on a Caravan Talk thread
Ideally a van should be tested only when the inside and outside temperatures are stabilised, with all locker doors opened for at leat half an hour before attempting the test.
This procedure obviously wasn't fully carried out last night so I'll monitor it further using my own damp meter. The engineer suggested that I point this reading out at the next annual service.

I've been going by these figures

"Readings between (0-15%):no cause for concern.

Readings between (15-20%): dealer to make a note of these readings and re-check at next service.

Readings between (20-24%): possible early signs of ingress. Look for tangible evidence or ask for a re-check.

Readings between (25-30%): moisture evident, remedial work required; may not need strip-down unless surface damage (staining, pimpling, and softness) is apparent. (There is a risk of wallboard deterioration due to retained moisture in the structure if resealed only.)

Reading (31 % and above): structural damage is occurring, deterioration inevitable. A full strip-down of the affected area is required."
From this site:

It's difficult for a layman like me to obtain absolute figures (if they exist).

The only problem being meter calibration. And meter type.

Have you tried the exact same spot they tested with your meter so you have an reference figure of your calibration against theirs ?

I've had damp, I would not wish it on anybody.

Good points, I've got a cheapo meter which I'll use later to see if I can replicate the engineers reading.
Maybe worth investing in a better meter, I wonder what other forum members use to check damp, if at all.
