After a couple of years with no problem, Outlook (Hotmail) has suddenly started to place Motorhomefun emails in the "Junk" folder. Is it only happening to me? Or is it a bigger problem?

My filter is doing that as well.

I only realised today in work when I was deleting e-mail folders.

many many years! since I was a kid
somebody sent a huge amount of spam out last week, altered to make it look like it was sent from motorhomefun. because of that several spam filter lists now have all mail sent from motorhome fun listed as spam. outlook uses these lists as do other email clients to identify possible spam

unfortunately once onto a spam blacklist it is not as simple as emailing the list owner to get your entry removed. expect any emails from this forum to be classed as spam/junk for quite some time:cry:

I've had the same problem as well, it only started today for some reason:Angry:

I've clicked on "not junk" and "always show content from MHF", so will see what happens in future.......thought it was just a glitch with Outlook, never had this happen until now though.

Perhaps it is junk::bigsmile:

Perhaps it is something to do with content......... Jim's new new rules - anything off topic gets junked. That should apply to the majority of posts:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I don't get email notifications from here, so never noticed.

A few years ago, I was having problems with Outlook. A BT Broadband adviser put me onto Mozilla Thunderbird, and I haven't really had a problem since.

Cheers,

Jock.

I think you can - I certainly have no difficulty in managing junk with Mac Mail. The attached image is from the Help file.

If you right click the message in your junk folder
Then scroll down the menu to the 'Junk' item
Click it then choose 'Not Junk'

you should be sorted then:thumb:

I run Outlook on my PC using POP3 mail and there are two different stages that can catch junk mail and label them as such. First of all whoever is managing your email account can identify it as junk and isolate it. In my case for my main email address that is my Internet Service Provider (ISP). Those of you who use email account holders such as googlemail or hotmail it will be them. In that case it will never get sent to Outlook, and the only way you can check is to go onto webmail and look in the junk folder there. How you then categorise it as not junk will depend upon where it is, i.e. what ISP of email account provider you are using.

The second way is that once an email (which has not previously been classified as junk) arrives on your computer, Outlook has another go and decides for itself whether or not it is junk. In that case it puts it in its own junk mail folder. So the advice on checking in Outlook and then right clicking and mark as not junk only applies to those that Outlook have classed as junk. Not the ones that never got through in the first place!

I don't know much about Hotmail / Outlook.com but does it have a 'blacklist' option? If so, perhaps the MHF email address has been placed in it automatically and now directs all messages to junk. If this is the case, you may have to delete the entry and add MHF to a 'whitelist'. Another thought: does the mail system have any rules set that could be causing this - basically another way of operating a blacklist filter.

Yes I use TB but that is for business emails, in fact I use several email software programs. I use Hotmail for my forums, and I just thought it odd that all of a sudden, MHF became Junk mail, so asked if anybody else had it happen to them.

If the company that host your mail server subscribe to Spamhaus or a similar company then you will have no control over which messages get through (depending on your isps settings). These companies do a very good job though.. On the whole.
