It's just such a lot of hassle trying to get their by public transport, bus from Sitges to Barcelona followed by train to Montserrat followed by another train up to the Monastery. Would much prefer to drive from the campsite here at Sitges but need to know if it's possible.
Cheers Ponyboy

Thanks Old-Mo - I'm getting the impression that it's not really a MH destination but I guess if coaches can make it......

Easy drive, good parking, think its 4 euros parking and entry. Be there at lunch time to hear choir, they pipe the music throughout the complex. Well worth the visit. BUSBY::bigsmile:

We have driven up, taken the train up and gone up in the cable car, no problems with any of them,
Just make sure that you take the 2nd cable car right up to summit, its well worth it for the view alone.

Thanks everyone. I remember the jaw dropping mountain from driving on the motorway, got some pictures that don't do it justice. Now bookmarked as another sight to see in Spain.

When you see the name broken down it's so obvious "mountain with serrations".

We've never "loved" Spain but boy has it got some sights to see if you leave the coastal resorts.

i would say you will be OK in your motorhome, it gets busy up there but you should get parked, just be careful we had ice on the road when we went. ::bigsmile: Bob.

Visited Montserrat August this year............ fabulous must see place. Large Coach park at top, did not see any MH's but others have answered and more will. Thought some pics might be appropriate. Should say that both the train ride on the Cremallera (The Zip) and the cable car ride are an important element of the visit, views from both are stunning, leave the van and take a ride.

Regards, Bryan

It is worth the trip and very easy in a motorhome. My one really big surprise was to find that there was another one other than the one in Bolton. We have a district called Montserrat and it is a council housing estate. Fancy naming a monastery after a boring district of Bolton. I have pals who live in Bury, Lancashire. They were amazed to find a middle eastern city was named after the Jericho district in Bury.

Just a thought, coaches seem to me all go at same time give or take,so if roads are narrow or have hairpins make sure you time it right.....see my drift.
