Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We are going to our first adult only site this Friday /Sunday .
www.overbrookcaravanpark.co.uk
In Thornton-le-dale for the Christmas lights switch on , It's a lovely village .

Now we've gone to this for years , with the kids , and stayed at another kid friendly site in the next village.
Now our children are all working and have different things going off on a weekend we are going just with the dogs this year. time moves on:Smile:

Apart from peace quiet what can we expect from an adult only site.
Is it just the same , or are there usually jobsworths walking about wearing beige Farrah slacks with clipboards and a measuring tape.
Plus if dogs can't be exercised on the site, how do you get them off without any accidents. And if there is , and you pick up , would this be seen as rule breaking:ROFLMAO:

No jobsworths...you'll be shown to your pitch and left to your own devices. A lovely little site. Don't know what their attitude to dogs is though but I would guess they are pretty tolerant.

Been to Overbrook a couple of times, great little site.
No problems with dogs, prefer you to walk them offsite if possible. During the day there a small wood nearby where you can walk the dog, would need a good torch at night.
Nice village with a couple of good pubs for a drink and meal.

We've stayed on the Grassington site on several occasions, we loved it! The Gamekeepers Inn on the site is great for a few drinks, they do meals in the restuarant as well. Dogs are welcome as well and not far to stagger ......... sorry, walk back to the van:thumb: We missed the Christmas market last year, but will go back in the future.
The bus stops at the bottom of the road outside the site entrance and will get you into Grassington in 5 - 10 minutes. Don't think the site is "adults only", but you'll enjoy it just the same.
Have a good trip, we'll be thinking of you!

You probably won't notice much differance

Till the 60 year old kids come back from pub

Or chuck the bottles and empty tinnies out

You'll probably get a lay in till the neighbours are sober

Ho ho hoo

Forgot to add that Darren and his wife who run the site are a nice couple and very helpful, the New Inn at the top of the road does nice meals.

Adult Sites

try the Adult section at Naburn Lock site, its run/owned/managed by Cath and Peter and is an absolute pleasure to visit and stay. There is a bus stop outside main entrance to get the Number 42 bus into the city of York (8 miles) or to the Design Centre for shopping.
The facilities can only be described as 1st Class with plenty of walks or cycling plus the well known Blacksmiths Arms (only pub in the area) with a wide range of beers and excellent food plus it has a Dogs only Bar for your 4 legged friends. We visit at least every month for past 3 yrs. they are slowly getting to know our Liverpool humour and now believe me when I tell them that I have not just come out of prison. Just mention 'The Kelly's' from Huddersfield and watch Cath go pale while she reaches for her baseball bat.:winky:
