Did anyone see this program this morning, I see Dave Newell did an appraisal of the conversion and bought up many valid points. Interesting program pointing out that you must do your research before parting with your money (as in all things).

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Yep, just watch it and if I had been Dave I would have been wearing everything possible to advertise his business.
Shame that the family went through that and has spoilt the idea of this hobby to them for life all because of one person............ I love the name and shame game as how many people will use him again.......

Problem is that people will carry on using him, how many have seen the programme?

Unless these scammers/crooks whatever get put in prison for some time, they just carry on.

What was the name of the programme and time so I can watch it!

It was on BBC 1 at 9:15 am this morning. I believe it is called The Legaliser.

Yes I have just watched it but its all very well getting judgment against these people but its geting paid.

If they have are well clued up there are many ways of avoiding actually paying, they didnt say the scooter people actually got paid.

Over £5000 its a High Court case not Small Claims and the costs are high.

Always pay part by credit card then you are covered under the Credit Consumer Acts

I have had this programme on all week, in the background, whilst decorating the front room. There are 2 cases every day so that's a total of 10 cases this week.

There was an interview with the "Legaliser" on Breakfast TV on Monday morning and he stated that all the cases to be shown this week were won.

I think this is a situation where each case is "Risk Assessed" before being filmed as they do not want to show people failing in their claims. They select only the cases which make good Television.

Most of what he said was common sense and anyone can go to the Small Claims Court if the value of the claim is less than £5000. You do not need a QC to advise you, the information is readily available from the courts or Citizen Advice.

I have a tendancy to treat these programmes with a degree of sceptisism.

The Pakistani woman with the mobility scooter (and what looked to be a good sense of humour) won her case but that is a whole lot different to getting the money - unlike the other case, starring Diamond Dave, where it was stated that she was actually paid
