Dealer drove the MH over today and got it up the drive::bigsmile:

Well chuffed, we will have to reverse it along the lane 30 metres then we can drive it up through the gates no problem.

So thanks for all your help and advise re storage etc and a big cheer for continental caravans cross hands. The journey begins...:thumb:

>>> Van fits on drive..

I knew Van Fits well. Van to his friends. The times we had in old Rotterdam, if I told you Jim would ban me. Tell him Hilldweller sends his regards and I did eventually get the little problem cleared up with the cream he sent me.

I'm so giddy with excitement. Sad I suppose to all you 'old timers'.:winky:

It's been a dream of martins to own a MH for years and I'm really proud that through all his hard work he's finally managed it, it might not be the best, shiniest and it's definitely not the biggest but it's all ours and now hopefully the fun begins.

As to monies saved, Lakeland catalogue here I come!

With all the money you have saved on altering the drive can now be spent on loads of accessories you will never use :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's not what you've got it's what you do with it.

Some of the best adventures we see on here are in basic vans.

And small is good, OK so it's not like a hotel room but you can go anywhere. There are quite a few posts "Is XXXXXX suitable for 30m long MHs".

Our first trip to see what it was like on a ferry ( non event ) was to Paris, Bois de Boulogne. Wife was driving when she hit Paris at evening rush hour. I'd failed to download the detailed French maps so we were running down back streets, up and down the one way by the Seine trying to find the campsite. When we did we found it had a nice little restaurant, we consoled ourselves with steak and chips and a litre of house red. Life does not get better. We slept well.

An even closer tester for you is Bruges. 80 miles from the ferry. A great town to visit. There is a good aire by the main railway station.

Never been so cold as Bruges christmas market, took our 2 sons over a few years ago, had to all get into bed fully clothed at midday.

But spring would be nice, food for thought, also got rellies in Brussels.

Sale, tell me more? Always an eye for a bargin (more useless rubbish)!

It doesn't look like you have street lights on that lane. How's your reversing in total darkness?
First time I tried it in the real dark we were towing a caravan ( it's not as bad as it sounds, we towed it with a Range Rover) we arrived late at a site in Brittany, only to find the little parking area outside the gates full. No problem, the lane carried on round a small pond between the trees and came back to the site entrance. No need to turn around. So, 9/10 of the way round the loop, we came across a French lorry parked up for the night blocking the lane
A real baptism of fire, into reverse, trees one side, a pond the other, pitch black and Mrs A as banksman shining a torch on herself so I could see her directions.....:whatthe:

MoHo at Home? Great news, I'm a lot happier with mine at home than when it was in storage.

Hold your horses, we haven't tried it in the dark yet, is she available for night work? Extra charges?

Week off work booked, just got a few things to sort out (dependant gran, kids, dog, cat, chickens etc) then the open road beckons...:thumb:just in time for the cold snap!
