Just paid £400 for a service, I thought that it was a bit dear, is this the going rate?

It included a filter pack (whatever that is!) and an oil change, they checked the batteries at our request.

cheers Dawn

if you mean an engine only service then that is around 60% overpriced.

filter pack consists of an air filter, an oil filter and a fuel filter.......it may also include a pollen filter for the face/floor/heater vents.

average aftermarket price for full filter kit is around £35....double that for main dealer price.

oil will be around £30 for 5 ltrs....again, dealers a lot more.

labour should be no more than an hour for an oil service..

You may not have been due a service... Mine will become due because of the 2 year limit and looking to get it sorted soon...

yep....sounds like main dealer service.......robbing ba**ards.

use main dealers is you are still in warranty or have no notion of the value of money, otherwise use a good independent.

just oil serviced my Chrysler.......9.5lts oil = £60....oil, air and fuel filters = £29......45 minutes of my time = priceless.....but an independant would charge maybe £40.

total = £129

Hi

Just had our van serviced yesterday at large motorhome dealer. Cost was £250 for the (first) service and £175 for habitation check.

£400 for just a service sounds like far too much to me.
