Since 2011 (so a bit of a newbie)
I'd do it every week, but I'm struggling to get my wife to do it even once a month.

We did a lot at the start. Infact, we couldn't get enough of it. On several occasions we did it every day for three weeks.

Alas, over the last year the frequency has reduced to zero.

It's got so bad that I'm having to consider doing it on my own, which just isn't as much fun.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get my dear beloved to indulge me.

Motorhoming used to be such fun, and we were both up for it.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can rekindle the spark for my wife and get her back into packing up and journeying off for the weekend or even longer. I'd be happy to have a trip up the Dales, or maybe the Peak District, and I don't care that it is November.

Does anyone else have this trouble with their other half?

Yes, same problems.
2 days last week, 2 days this week and 2 days next week.
Then i may have to put it away for a while.
Must be the cold weather that does it.!!!

Place a few smelly candles around the van, a box of chocolates on the dinette table and some romantic music on the radio!

That should allow you to get your wicked way!:thumb:

If she doesn't want to go just say wink at her and say "No problem darling, I'll go on my own. Never know who I may bump into".

Bet she can't wait to get packed and away with you. :thumb:

Try the following :-

Pack everything up yourself
Plan menus that use easily stored and cooked food
Shop for easily stored and cooked food
Organise second set of bedding and do extra laundry on return
Make sure other half has everything they could possibly need
Think ahead and accommodate other half's daft ideas
etc etc................

Get the picture yet?

My wife prefers to do it abroad and in the sun..!
Once we are over there and away from the cold dark UK winters she is happy to keep going for several months...

I'd do it every week, but I'm struggling to get my wife to do it even once a month.

That sort of implies insignificant little trips.

Maybe your performance is not good enough for her.

Tell her, don't ask, "I've just booked into the FUN Morocco trip, we leave Spain on the 15th Jan".

See how that goes down.

If that's a bit scary, then Italy, Lago di Garda next May, if she does not enjoy that PX her for a better one.

Hi Brian,

As you know having just bought the motorhome, I want to do it all the time - although I did go through a spell of not wanting to do it very often when we had the caravan:roflmto:

My question - you mentioned Italy next May - is that a rally or just wishful thinking on your part? Would be interested in booking on it if it is a reality!

I just ask my mismanager "do you want sex OR a trip in the motorhome?" She always replies "where are you thinking of taking us?" :Eeek:

I would do all that,but I'm a tads busy with :-
Checking leisure batteries are charging properly
Checking solar panels are working ok
Checking fluids in engine
Checking tyres.
Checking that LPG tank is full
Checking grey tank is empty and clean
Checking toilet cassette is ok and 'primed'
Filling fresh water tank.
Ensuring that there is sufficient storage space for all the stuff the other half feels she needs.
Checking electric bikes and putting them on rack.
Entering co-ordinates in Sat Nav
Organise second set of bedding and do extra laundry on return ::bigsmile:
etc ,etc ,etc ,etc

What was that picture we were supposed to get ? :ROFLMAO:

Neither. End of May is a good time for Italy, not too busy, not too expensive but weather has always been good. In fact it saved us this year, Germany was soggy but Riccioni was glorious.

Next year our available time/money is spent on Morocco.

We can survive one year without Italy but a family get together is in progress for 2015. I don't mind helping any FUNsters get there then but on my dates.

The only time of the year woman is not up for a weekend away is the three weeks preceding Krimble..because of preparations etc etc..

There are some times she moans a bit cos she 'wants to do the garden' but when I point out the garden will still be there when we come back, and ( without being morbid ) there are only so many weekends left for us old farts, she usually changes her mind :thumb:

Yeah ok, but then you men sit and do nothing for the rest of the time.
Dinner does not cook itself
Beds don't make themselves
And more seriously the drinks can't pour themselves

Man normally BBQs and the rest of the time it is eat out or from a tin or packet. Man also gets out the table, lays cutlery and condiments out, opens tins and packets and helps with washing up and clearing away all the things that man got out.
Man straightens his side of the duvet and fluffs the pillows because man is normally up first. Woman often gets up and brews tea and returns to bed with it for both to enjoy, then remains in bed while man gets up to empty toilet cassette so woman can make herself "feel human again". Man changes the bedding in our MH.
Man is ALWAYS in charge of the bar because woman doesn't drink/replenish fast enough.

Oh dear :ROFLMAO:
I really must get a toilet that empties itself
An awning that puts itself up
A table and some chairs that get themselves out of the locker
A BBQ that assembles itself and connects itself to the gas point.
A waste tank that empties itself when it's not convenient to move the van to do it.
AND -praps I should stop making the bed and pouring the drinks :ROFLMAO:
'edit' I'll stop washing up as well

Living in a tin box ,sometimes for 3-4 mths at a time requires a pretty fair distribution of tasks that both are happy with :thumb:
We've sort of drifted into it over the few yrs we've been doing it so that now it's second nature-a bit like the original topic of the Thread really:thumb:

A very good point. I voted for Morocco partly because when we are away in May/June we get back to an overgrown mess. The clock might be ticking for us but tell that to the bushes and the weeds.

Thanks for all those great ideas guys and gals.

So basically I need to get her drunk, promise to do all the cooking and other jobs, or best of all ask her whether she wants sex or a weekend away in the MH. Lol! That should definitely work!

I'll let you know how it goes

In some parts of otherwise respectable suburbs I'm led to believe they have Motorhome swapping parties - you know, everybody throws their keys into a bowl, has a few drinks then picks one out at random to see which Motorhome they'll be spending the weekend with.

Worth considering..?

Just sell the garden! And house! Then you have little option but to go away in the motorhome!:ROFLMAO:

Our fourth glorious year!
We did that for 6 months or so but she ended up moaning. So gave in and bought a house, now she wants to stay put.

We intend to buy again soon but I hope that doesn't mean staying put! We after three months in the van are going on 'holiday' to a hotel on the Costa Del Sol for three weeks and will get back to the 'quest' after that.We will be going to Spain again in the van after Xmas.It is all so complicated!:ROFLMAO::roflmto:
