Am thinking of rejoining c&cc. Things for and against. What is an average price for a c s. And savings on major sites. Never use a hook up. Can't use recovery. Vehicle is over 25. Costs £41. Not mean just tight.

We use their Temporary Holiday sites which are great value at around £7 to £10 per Unit per night (No EHU at most). Many sites are picked because of their close proximity to towns or attractions, they tend to be at Sports Clubs & established Rally fields.
You will find them all listed in the back of the C&C Club Magazines, however most have finished by now & the new ones won't be posted until the New Year.

We left the C&CC last years, after being members for 30+ years. Two main reasons. We got fed up of being told where to park/pitch, and the run down state of many of the sites facilities.

We've not been C&CC members for many years, but greatly apreciate their "no booking required" Meets and THS, compared to the lack of "similar facilities" (especially catering for MHs) with the CC, whom we have been members of now, for almost 34 years.

The C&CC tend to be a little bit more unrestricted and relaxed, compared to the CC. This rule of thought, mainly applies to their sites, rather than their CL network.

As a member of C&CC you can join the RAC "Arrival" scheme which covers recovery of any size of m/h.:thumb:
OOOOppppss ..... Just realised you mean 25 years so not sure it would be covered.

Join the c&cc
. Ths sites are great we were paying £11 a night at a big site in wales where normal pitches are £30 night .
Join the motorcaravan section they are all year round and use hard standing , always near a town and or a bus stop out side the meeting . Costs around £5 a night , :Cool:

we were members of the cc but when you went to a site or phoned them and told them you were in a motorhome the atmosphere / tone changed . :Confused:

We got the feeling we were not welcome , waste of £40 + quid .:Mad

Most of our trips in the last two years have been C&CC meets/THSs. Great value for money and with the convenience of not having to book in most cases.

We keep CC going on the off chance of wanting to use a site/CL but it will be under review if we don't use them.

We've also been members of the motorcaravaning section for a couple of years. Can't beat it.
We think the CCC is great. The fact that you can turn up , do your own thing , join in if you want but not be pestered to do so if you don't . Is brilliant. We've always been made welcome at every rally , with every DA , we've been with. We just look in the magazine, see what's on that weekend , and choose what we fancy , with which ever district association is organising it. Most of the time you don't even have to book on.
The other weekend we went to Masham sheep fair , stayed in a field, on a CCC rally. Met some more lovely fellow campers , who we might never see again , but you never know. We keep bumping into familiar faces as we go to different places.
It cost £ 7 per night. If we'd have stayed down the road at a site it would have been £25 per night. Not including the dogs , which would have been charge extra I'm sure. More to cash left in the pot to spend on real ale:thumb:
We picked a huge tub of juicy elderberries , which are in demijohns now. Turning into our own Masham red wine:thumb:
With a good set of batteries and a solar ( and all the rest of Ralph's elektrikery stuff) who needs hook up.

Been members of both clubs for a good few years, CC is as others have said more caravan orientated, C&CC seems to be a bit more open to all campers, Have never stayed on any of their main sites as we have only used the CL / CS networks all of which are independently owned and most offer good value for money although we have noticed prices creeping up over the last couple of years with quite a few now charging well over a tenner a night, most of the ones we have used have been around £7 - £8 per night with EHU. currently on a CS at Whitwell Station just outside Reepham ,Norfolk they charge £5 per night but no EHU, we use this site a lot and are here on our own most of the time.

The Link Removed is one of the interest groups. It costs an extra £6 a year if you want to join. Like all the C&CC Sections and DAs, though, you can attend their Meets/THSs without being a member of the MCS.

They tend to arrange venues where there is easy access to public transport, which isn't so important to caravan or tent campers with a car.
