Hi all,

Yes we're still looking!!, Got our eye on a 2008 Fiat MIZAR GTL LIVING, I like the querky exterior and the layout seems ideal for us, but 'her indoors' thinks its too long ( 24ft) and doesn't like the ' horse box' front. But I think if the grand kids come with us they would love sleeping up there.

There will be only the two of us most of the time but as its the first time we have owned a camper we ar looking at a four berth as I don't want to feel cramped

Your thoughts on the size, build quality and any other issues would be appreciated

Thanks Tony

Then optimise it for you two. Don't be thrown by relatives, our grandkids never used ours and we were stuck a layout best for them but not the two of us.

4 berth seems the minimum for two no matter what they say. They usually sleep two properly and the other two are cobbled together beds.

Look photograph, look photograph, read Jim's buyers' guide then think about getting your cash out.

we have this version of the CI . The 2006 version. Mizar GTL living , TOP CLASS.
The only one after looking at loads , that ticked all our boxes. Layout was king for us.
Apart from the upholstery that was a bit worn , ( otherwise we would have kept it ) which we have since had redone to our taste. The build quality was far more superior/ solid to the newer version and although we could have bought a brand new CI for just a few grand more we plumped for this one which was 3 years old at the time. We love it . Dont have a problem with its size. We sleep up top in the king size bed. So no beds to make up , plus theres plenty of room and light up there. You can still pick this model up for about 24k
You just dont seem to be able to get this layout anymore unless you go huge. Brilliant for when all the kids came with us . We changed the exhaust and cam belt . So far touch wood , we've had no problems with it . Sails through the mots.
We very unusually ( so were told ) got it right 1st time and still have it and plan on keeping it till we eventually do our PVC before Ralph retires. Which hopefully will be our last one !

Hi, thanks for reply, had seen this one on utube and advertised, but we are looking at two, one at a dealer (2008) 6000 miles, and one private (2007) 8000 miles both similar layout but with the bunk beds length ways at the side and the washroom in the back corner , both on ebay and a similar price, the private one has a ne habitation air con unit and two tvs, looks a great layout....

Juat something to think about.

Only habing a dinette to sit / lounge at we found an absolute pain tonthe point thatbwe sold our elnagh baron 46 and bought an rv for the space (another mistake and another story)

My point is think hard about your lounging area and whether or not you think only habe a dinette is ok. We ended up selling a vehicle that otherwise was good 24ft go anywhere that we had from new and now do not have a motorhome ( plan is to buy a Chausson Flash 22 when business pocks up) and have lost a lot of money for what was just a mistake on the layout.

Good luck:thumb:

You have to make up your Slounge if you have a dinette. Keep the seat backs in place (or swap for other end depending on what direction) set the bed cushions in place, and put your feet up! You have a chair with your feet stretched out - quite relaxing, watching the news from the Slounge!:thumb:

got to agree with Toffs....

no decent lounging area is a real pain.

when at home do you spend all evening on an immovable upright backed chair in front of a table.

we sold our first van in less than 6 months and at a £5000 loss because we made this mistake.
if i've been driving for hours on end in one upright chair, i wasnt sitting on a dining chair when we did stop.
