We stayed at South Lychett manor during December last year, on the 10th we awoke to discover that some scrote/s had stolen our new push bikes, valued at just over £700.

By following their footsteps in the frost we found out that they came across the farmers field, over a small stream, over a barbed wire fence which was surrounded by a hedge, across the grass to our vehicle. They then removed the rain cover, cropped the 2 security devices and wheeled them back to their vehicle which was parked by the gate in the farmers field. Good tyre tracks in te mud along with some good footprints.

Insurance paid out OK, all the police would do is supply a crime number and issued an e mail warning to local businesses. Never visited us or the scene.

The duty warden was very helpful going over to the local farmer to see if he had any idea but to no avail.

What was really disturbing is, because of the distance and route these people had taken, they must have been observing us to know about the cycles. Very unlikely to be an opportunist theft as other vehicles were not approached and they had their cycles outside.

Quite true, Dear Dorset as we term it affectionately but there are bargins to be had you just need to have holidayed there for 27 years to know where they are:roflmto:
Campsites: Norden Farm 13 quid inc. EHU Corfe Castle
Burnbake 9 quid On the road to Studland
if you are in the C&C Club there are plenty of rallies mainly around Wareham.

Eating out is quite expensive too but The Greyhound Pub in Corfe is good, Mains are about 11 quid & very good
Cafe at Swanage opposite the Mowlem Theatre is very reasonable & good quality
I could go on .......................:thumb:
Its a beautiful County & touch wood weather is normally pretty reliable - takes some beating

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, the site looks quite secure. Glad insurance paid up, sign of the times unfortunately.
