To mark the end of this record-breaking production run, which has seen a staggering 3.9 million Camper vans built worldwide, Volkswagen has announced it will sell a final commemorative edition series, featuring a mash-up of design features introduced throughout the car's life.

Read that as "They need to use up all the old bits"

well over 5 years
always a shame to see an "old fashioned" vehicle that has stood the test of time be committed to the graveyard.

To me most cars, vans have little character and are much of a muchness.

bring back the 1959 chevvy, the Ford Classic the zephyr 4 etc

It's easy to be nostalgic but then I remember that, at 8 years old, our first car was a rust bucket that had all sorts of problems not seen in a car of similar age these days.

It's nice to see the pleasure our son and his family get from the 32 year old Cavalier Coachman he is restoring but I'd rather have our van any day than that or one of the old VWs

Bloody things were never any good anyway:ROFLMAO:
I bought a new tent last week to carry on my m/bike for a Spanish trip in 2 weeks its got twice as much room as a VW and more comfortable and only cost £150.00 :winky::winky:
And the GS does 50mpg at a steady 85mph fully loaded.

Since 2012 but longer in my dreams
I always wanted one when I was younger, until a friend of a friend was in a smash in his. There was not a lot left of him,and even less of the bus!
If you saw how much they crumple and disintegrate you'd think twice about getting in one !
