It would be easier to ask if any Funster is NOT going to France in September!

Seems like everyone is off so it's going to be very crowded over there.:winky:

We are on shuttle early on the 5th .... should have been the 1st but left it late booking and they want 14 days notice with Tesco vouchers:Doh:

Agree - think lots will be over there. We certainly will be - we're on the DFDS 14.45 Dover to Calais crossing day-after-tomorrow, Wednesday 28th Aug.

Heading, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland and hopefully end up in Provence. :thumb:

We are off to France the weekend after next. We will be taking a slow meander down to the Parc du Feu.

Brisey.

We spent a day at Puy Du Fou last year and found it totally amazing and VERY busy but that was a Saturday,

It is our aim to see the evening performance while we are over there in September ..... perhaps we should have a Funster meet there.

Hi

We sail on the 9th no real plans but visiting St Malo probably south as far as la Rochelle but following weather.

Does anyone know if it's still ok to stop overnight at Marine Parade.

Parking still ok in Dover, but a better place is next to the Dover Patrol memorial at St Margaret's at Cliffe. It will only take a few more minutes to get to the ferry but its a much better view and if you get there before 4 pm, you can get a cuppa in the old Coastguard station which is now a tea room.
Nice walks along the cliffs too. Beats Dover hands down

Two aires at Le Crotoy, the one by the marina is bigger and easy to get to the boulangerie!
Nice aire at Fort Mahon too, but a better one at Quend, although the town isn't as nice as the others
Have a good trip

Hi Allan,

Thanks for that - will give them a go. Is the marina aires in Le Crotoy the one nearer the town - I have read that the one on the sea side isn't as nice?

We stayed in a caravan site last year on the other side of the Baie de Somme in St Hilaire sur Somme and that was lovely, so hoping the other side of the Bay will be as good!

We're booked for the tunnel late on Friday 9th Sept, arriving Calais at about midnight. Short drive to Cite Europe when we arrive and decide on Saturday morning where next.

We expect to be back in the UK next April or May, and plan on France for a few weeks, heading south as autumn sets in - probably to the Algarve but a trip to Morocco could be a possibility.

My blog, pilotesprogress.com will report our adventure.
