20 years (unless you count my dads VW which makes it 52 years with a few gaps!!)
Having struggled with my little Fiamma levelling ramps on a few occasions and then reading recently about some breaking I thought I would bite the bullet and get some Milenco Quattro's as recommended by all and sundry, the best, strongest ramps on the market.
They arrived this morning, well packaged and marked. FRAGILE:ROFLMAO:
fills me full of confidence!!!!:Eeek:

Still learning since 2010
I may be wrong, but the Fiamma ramps that broke were the black Maxi-Level type. Big ones similar to the Quattro but with only three steps up.
One of mine completely snapped in two between the first and second level.

I now have a pair of Quattro's and they seem a lot more substantial than the Fiamma ones. Time will tell.

I still have a pair of the smaller Fiamma levels, the yellow ones, and they are not showing any signs of failing. The only reason I got the larger ones was because they gave a lot more height for levelling on sloping pitches.

I need to get some bigger ramps too. I only have the small Fiamma ones.

We stopped on a pitch in France last week using the little ramps and it was an uphill walk to bed.

Since 2008 after caravanning for 20 years
It was my yellow ones that started to split, a left over from our caravanning days. The Milenco ones have done us well in the last 18 months and show no sign of cracking and we have used them a lot. Mind you, when we are on the top level it's quite a step up into the van, my dog has a bit of a struggle getting in!

I screwed a chamfered block of wood to the bottom of mine. It adds about another two to three inches to the height. Works a treat.

I have had two pairs of ramps since 1978:thumb:

Two pieces of wood 2'x6''x3'' and two smaller pieces 1'x4''x6''.

They all fit in the gas locker.

The cost me a pint ( the wood came out of a builders skip).

£250 quid for four devices the mind boggles:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Wouldn't three be the most you would need?

Have had Milenco tripple levels for some time now. Although they do not lift quite as high as the quads, they are much more compact and weigh less too. They generally work OK for us. :thumb:

Surprisingly, on our last 4-week trip to France, where I think we stopped over in about 15 different places - quite remarkably we didn't need to use levels once!:winky:

I had two problems with my small Fiamma ramps.

1. They bowed under the weight of the van and then started splitting
2. The cheese grater design for the underside meant that they sank easily into the soft ground

The Millenco ramps are far better made and far superior.
