This might be a daft post so forgive me.::bigsmile:

In our Burstner the water pump was near enough silent, but in my new van it. sounds a bit like a machine gun.

Is this normal?

Guess it could depend where it is located. Autotrails tend to put them on a thin inner wall and they vibreate the sound a lot.. Our is under the rear U lounge and when we use that as a bed and someone visits the loo in the night or early hours it can make a real racket..

Yes, that's when we notice it most.

When it first happened I thought war had broken out::bigsmile:

I concur. Mine's noisy too, and yet it's mounted on vibration dampers under a rear seat and our bed's at the front. I was surprised how big it is, after the 'Smarties tube' in-line thing in my previous PVC.
I find, if the water system is up to pressure immediately before bed, there's enough force to operate the toilet flush without the pump turned on.

I think Burstner fit a submerged Reich pump (same as Hymer who own Burstner). These are to all intents and purposes, silent so that is why you are noticing the difference.

Ours scared the life out of me first time we used it. I was convinced it was broken. Even people in other vans could hear it.
It is mounted under the bed in the back of the MH and the rear wall that forms part of the garage.
It really grabs your attention if any water is run in the night. :Eeek:

Yes, but you are one of the clever types that know what a water pump looks like.::bigsmile:

Our elddis had the riech pump fitted and hardly made a noise, the Adria has a noisy pump and the first time I heard it I thought it was a bit noisy. So traced where it was and checked everything was as it should be and now I'm used to the noise.

Terrific!
Just read these and thinking that's something else to look forward to when we collect our Autotrail on 28th:RollEyes:
I wonder if it's too late to back out of trading in the Elddis now:Sad:

Hi Bill, it really is a minor issue.

We are really pleased with our Autotrail.:thumb:

It it is under a bed or other large space, pop a box over it. The noise will be amplified by the space, reduce the space, reduce the noise. Won't mean it will be silent, but will reduce the din!
