Following on from Captain pug wash (Stuart's) thread about what you don't like about a site, just wondering what makes you choose a site and return to it.

For me

1) Location

2) Clean and Tidy.

We like sites with really open views, rather than hemmed in woods.

Free availability of wi-fi is always a bonus.

Oh, and in summer we prefer to stay at naturist sites when we can...

Need to qualify that a bit - no feral kids...... I love kids but couldn't eat a whole one :winky:

Too many bad experiences of the badly behaved ones outweigh the well behaved ones, unfortunately

Hot shower with endless water.

Two come to mind. Grantown on Spey and Vila Sol, Benidorm.

Not being a lover of campsites there are only 3 which I return too on a regular basis, although I have used many. One in North Wales, one in Benidorm and one in Morocco. The one in North Wales for the scenery, the one in Benidorm for the company and because its traditional and the one in Morocco for the same reasons as above plus its cheap. Other than these 3 I have never been on a campsite I have wanted to return too.

When on my own, in order to attract me to the possibility of maybe thinking about staying on a campsite it would need to have...

A great location.

Lots of space.

Water.

A drive over black water disposal place.

Free and fast wifi.

Great views.

No fees.

If I am with my Princess then it is simple.

All the campsite needs is her approval... :thumb:

I want:
Lots of happy children passing closely by and tripping over my table and chairs and stopping my dog getting bored.
Lots of footballs for me to catch and throw back to those happy little souls.
Loads of Cadacs sending plumes of lovely black acrid smoke from burnt food.
Other dogs peeing up the wheels to keep my dog busy having a sniff.
Fat men with exposed guts to make me feel thin.
Sensibly clad females to avoid any high blood pressure.
People that park close which makes me feel wanted and loved.
Seasoned campers who share the benefit of their vast knowledge on anything and everything.
A warden that ensures the rules made for everyone's benefit are religiously adhered to.
A camp shop that only sells the Daily Mail to ensure discerning readers only.
A camp shop that is so expensive it will ensure I never forget anything ever again.
No beer/wine swilling whining Motorhomers with their unused toilets, showers, cookers with plastic sheets to protect the upholstery.

Less than ÂŁ15 a night for two adults

Bog, shower and tap

Preferably within easy walking distance of a decent beach

Bus stop with regular service nearby

Newgale fits the bill very nicely, and it's in a National Park.

More than anything, smiley, happy and helpful staff, they overcome anything that an individual site may be lacking.

Other than that, sauna, hot tub, spa facilities, dedicated chef, yoga and pilates sessions, oh and valet parking:winky: this is what we usually get at municipal aires.....

The wife is always pleased when there's plenty of hot water for showers and pot washing. Me I'm looking how far way in the MH servicing point and how easy it is to use:ROFLMAO:

It would be nice to have water, electric, and waste on a pitch without having to succumb to the 'superpitch' pricing.

I have also found a way to keep kids away too. I remove the 'S' from my Speedo's! :thumb:
