just had a great weekend at goodwood

No Brian, not Dougie although he was there and yes he does have very big cojonas. This was some sixteen year old from Yankieville or somewhere equally god forsaken, he can ride a MTX bike though!

Well **** me. Looked pure Duggie. 16 YO. I'm seeing this all the time in Moto3. They don't understand impossible, fear, danger, hurt, second.

It was awesome wasn't it? The drag cars were incredible, the stats on "Spirit of Adventure" are mind boggling:

Supercharged Hemi V8 burning nitromethane and capable of 8000BHP! Supercharger takes 1500BHP to turn it at full chat! Standing start to 100MPH in just 0.7 sec! fuel pump deliver 1.3 gallons per second flat out! 18 gallon fuel tank will supply the motor for just two minutes........................at tickover!!! Standing quarter mile in 3.5 ish seconds with terminal velocity around 350MPH!!!!!!

They only ran a max of one eighth of full throttle at Goodwood cos none of the straight bits were long enough for a full throttle run!

Fuel costs 30 USD per gallon and it does about 60-70 gallons per mile, puts yer average motorhome into perspective doesn't it?


The drag cars were the only thing in my lifetime that have caused me true physical pain through sound alone!

It's not all sunk in yet, mindblowing. Too much going on to take it all in, keep remember things.

Just wait till she has to clean the Goodwood dust out of the motorhome. I spent an hour and a half with the jetwash on ours on Monday afternoon and its still not got it all off. Jackie swept the interior out this afternoon and washed all the bedding so at least that's clean.

Thanks for the photo of the RS200.....when I was in short trousers that was one of my dream cars :thumb:

I see they're repeating the programme about those brutal Group B rally cars on iPlayer....where they describe the RS200 as an "ugly duckling"

Yes, book for the full weekend, thursday's "moving motorshow" too. There is just TOO much to cover it all in one or even two days. Even the camping fields are a petrolheds wet dream, we saw MK1, Mk2 Escorts, Tr5s, TR6s, MGs of all sorts, Astons, Ferarris, Audis and that was just in the camping field!

If you love cars and motorsport Goodwood FoS has simply got to be on your bucket list!
