Management is hinting (I know my place, so I'll get one) that I should get one of them there here woven Moroccan awning mat jobs.
I've looked at various threads, want one of the UK made ones.

Where cab I get one?

John,
Our awnings are 3m sq, so 2.4 x 3 would probably be fine.

I wouldn't want to go there, Alan.
The last time I went was from Gibraltar as part of a scratch crew on a 100 year old schooner.
Beautiful boat.
Cheaper to save the travel costs and get one here, mate.
I'm told the quality of the UK ones is better anyway, which is credible.:thumb:

Alan,
Thanks for the offer, it's appreciated, but 1.5 is a bit narrow.
Also, I'm a long way from Cornwall.
Looking at the prices on the website recommended on here the prices aint too bad for that type of mat.

About 3m by 3 or 4.

I've got a 2.5m by 3.5m you can have for £15. It's grey/black

We're going back to Morocco in January so can replace it easy enough.

We're in Hartlepool but we'll be at Malvern and can bring it with us if you like.

Thanks for that, but we're not going to Malvern and we live in Lincs, a fair way from you.
We're away setting the MH up for daughter and mate to use from the Friday of the Malvern w/e.
We should be going to Saltfleet the previous weekend, are you going to that?

John

We bought one on Shrewsbury, I think (MrsS) may confirm, it was 2.5m x 3.5m and folds really well, I doubt it will fold well back into its bag once we have used it, it was £20. I have been thinking about them for some time, but, mist dont fold into a small space.

Just measured the van width, as it would have to live on the bike rack.
Width is 2m.
That being the case, any we get would have to be foldable?

Am sorry but I don't understand how the UK ones can be better quality, the man buys them in Morocco on the roll and cuts them up here. The ones you buy in the UK are if anything less good as the ends are glued where they cut them off the roll and soon fray. The genuine Moroccan ones are tied and don't fray. Have had a Moroccan mat for years and its pretty much indestructible.

regardless of what the seller says, constant folding and unfolding won't do the mat any good and will eventually break across the fold.

If you have a roof ladder it's not unusual to see them bungee'd on end to that.

We used to roll the last on and put it on the rear floor for travelling then under the van if we weren't using it when pitched

Papajohn is correct. They wont last long if they are folded. Always roll them and either tie to the rear ladder or across the bumper. Dont worry about them getting dirty, after a while it falls off, strange.
