How do we get a forum specially for cooking ideas ?
We just bought a small slow cooker (1.5 l capacity ) Huge success today :
1 onion chopped
2 thin cut steaks with chimichurri dressing bought from M&S chopped into strips
Tin of tomatoes
Veg Stockton
Salt and pepper

Chop onion and fry off in butter in pan and add to slow cooker
Cut meat in to strips and fry off until brown .Add to slow cooker
Add tomatoes and stockot to pan to heat and then add to slow cooker
Add sauce from M&S pack to slow cooker
Add salt and pepper to slow cooker
Cook on high for 1 hour
Add small potatoes
Cook on low for 3 hours

Serve with home made speciality bread from local shop or whatever you fancy

We had a lovely Rioja but I am sure you can come up with your own favoutite at this point
Good luck. We are off to pub

We were given a pressure cooker when we got married, it took me a while to pluck up courage to use it........eventually I decided to try it out but it was frightening at first with all the loud hissing. Then when the children were young it terrified them and they would run out of the kitchen when it was on:cry::roflmto:

I didn't use it for a long time after that, but great for casseroles in a fraction of the time, as well soup and loads of other things
too. By the way, this was away back in 1980, it was a Tower one, but I'm sure they're much quieter than that nowadays. We also have a slow-cooker, but we like one-pot meals when away in the van. Bill hates to do the washing-up:Angry:

We have to vote for the slow-cooker here, because at least with a slow-cooker you can put all the ingredients into the pot and go off and enjoy your day or for however long it takes.

With the pressure cooker you need to be there watching, waiting and timing it. The slow-cooker gives you more time and freedom:thumb:

i have several one takes 8 chicken . used it when cooking kentucky fried chicken . boil first then breadcrumb and fry . its a trick . i now use a small 3litre one . have my parents old pr cooker prestige god knows how old . vertually use it every day . i trained as a chef so i knowe they are used in many a commercial kitchen . in a van cook chicken then 1/4 it then brown off under a grill . all done in about 15 mins . rice takes about two mins then wrap in a towel and forget it for awhile while you cook the sauce meat etc .
but a pr cooker is only minutes not timing for ages . go to the loo its done . veg 5 mins meat 8-10 .chicken 12mins . . really is easy .

Hey Angus Dog, there is a cooking thread on this site, under the Lifestyle section. It's great to share cooking tips and recipies for the van.

We have both, a slow cooker and pressure cooker, it have found there's not much we can't do with our Cadac BBQ and double skillet.
Your recipie sounds fab by the way.

Somewhere in our last house moves 3 in past 6 years I donated the pressure cooker (my mothers original prestige one) to local charity shop as had not used it for many years. Now I realise I should have kept it and used it in the MH

Trago Mills was one of our favourite places when we used to visit the South Hams area for holidays in and around Dartmouth when the children were young. We've only been to the one near Newton Abbott, but there is something to keep everyone happy there, great place.

I used to spend a small fortune on bed linen, towels and kitchen stuff:thumb:

Also many happy times spent on the go-karts when the children were young
......hopefully we will manage down again before too long. Just avoid it over a bank holiday weekend.
