Hi Smiffy!

Everything can change within 24 hours so don't be pessimistic. It is a very very unusual year, OK but with a bit of chance you'll have some nice summer weather when you come.

Obviously ALL campsites won't be shut!! Only those which were next to the beach/rivers in the few flooded départements and only for a few days .The owners are desperate and will do all they can to open again very quickly!! Others campsites nearby will be opened and you will still have aires. Follow the alert map on the thread I've started so you'll see it will be very soon cleared up and all green.
For long range forecast use this in Google search : " meteo france prévisions gratuites à 12 jours"

Amicalement

Here in Basse-Normandie over the last couple of weeks we've had an occasional short shower of rain - only once was there enough to not have to water the veg. Highest temperature this week so far 28c. This morning, 8.30 (7.30 uk) it's sunny and 22c. In the garden we have a few hundred square metres of bare dug earth which we have been able to walk across without getting muddy... Météo Normandie forecasts occasional light showers until middle of next week, then warming up again.

French Weather

We went over to France on the 8th and came back yesterday morning. We stayed in Picardy region and had great weather everyday however some showers at night. The only time we had daytime rain was when we left yesterday morning it was raining in St Omer. Found a great site at Montmedy (Camp Municipal La Citadelle) and another at Aizelles (camping-du-moulin).

Dry in La Tranche sur mer but rain forecast later and for the next few days.Apparently it should be good then, we will have gone home mind you. Still we've had fun anyway and of course no sunstroke, sunburn or anything nastier to worry about

No problem here - new arrivals yesterday were amazed that they could sit outside during the afternoon and evening and enjoy the warm sunshine, as previously some had suffered from rain. We had some rain during the night, but this morning has been dry and bright, and now (2.30 pm) it is cloudy but dry. Forecast for next week is that temperatures will be in the 20s with sunshine.::bigsmile:
We'll never be flooded, as our previous guests will understand (we are high on the side of a valley), and even our grass pitches are in good condition. We even have folk on site who are in a tent, and have no problems.:thumb:
