Moselle

The Moselle is beautiful but so is the Rhine. They join at Koblentz (big aire) so you could do a bit of both. The prettiest part of the Rhine starts at Koblentz down as far as Rudesheim. You'll have fun. I love Germany.

Moselle

The Moselle is a motor home paradise We did it last yr from Koblenz westwards and there were hundreds of van parked in groups everywhere & you can stop overnight. A lovely area and don't forget that diesel may be cheaper in Luxemburg if you are going that way. We ended up in Annecy which is gorgeous and well worth a visit.

Our fourth glorious year!
Came back from Italy via the Moselle last month and have to say we thought it overated.
Might be just our personal taste. OK plenty of places to stop but to our mind not a patch on being in the Italian lakes. We cycled a lot but once youv'e cycled through one vineyard etc......:thumb:

Moselle or Mosel? The Mosel is the part in Germany, wonderful. The Moselle is the French stretch. We stayed on aires in Metz, Pont-a-Mousson, Millery, Toul and Vaucouleurs. That led us on to the Marne and the Meuse where we stopped at Ligny-en-Barrios, Joinville, Donjeux, Froncles, Vieville, Chaumont, Juzennecourt, Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, Montier-en-Der and aires by the Lac Du Chantecoq (AKA Lac Du Der) a wonderful trip. So, if you do happen to go to the French bit there are lots of places to stop :roflmto: There are also some brilliant maps available free from Tourist Info, the aires on the canals are often at Hault Nautiques so maps are shared with the boating folk. Camping Caravaning now 5'ering 49 years
The Rhine , Mosel and the Ahr valleys are our favourite parts of the work - so much to see and do all in a small space - use the water buses to get about - allows you to see everything from the river. Brilliant area brilliant people.

We did the Mosel last month, before the rain started. Lovely area with lots of things to see; get a tourist's map when you arrive. We found the Bord Atlas for Reisemobils, with lots of Stellplatz, very useful and we took the ACSI book for campsite options. It's not that camping locations are hard to find along the river it's just the books provide details to help you choose from the many available.

Enjoy your trip
