looks like a Californian kingsnake, a colubrid, constrictor not poisonous. A non British species, I'll have it if you put it in a box.

A young snake asked his mum,

"Are we the type of snake that bite people and poisons them with our venom, or are we the type of sake that squeeze people to death by crushing all the life out of their body"?

"Well son, we are the type that squeeze people to death, why do you ask"?

"Thank heavens for that! I have just bitten my lip"!

:Eeek::Eeek::Eeek:

Our daughter and her boyfriend are in Carcassonne for a few days, let's hope she doesn't come across anything like that, she's bad enough with small spiders:roflmto:

A few years back she phoned us from the flat one night saying there was a spider on top of the duvet, could we come and catch it?:Doh:

"No" was the answer to that one, it would be a 70 mile round trip to remove the damn thing...........she spent the night sleeping on the settee instead of trying to get rid of it:roflmto:

Not an adder, eye pupils are round in the picture, they are slitted in an adder.

Its a European grass snake, harmless, unless your a mouse, a frog or very small bird

Peter

(ps spot the pun )
