Here's a strange one!

Woken at 3am the other night with the CO alarm going. Only had the ELECTRIC heater on the minimum setting. No gas at all.

Can anyone explain?

No joking apart..have you checked everywhere to see if there is anything giving some tiny amount of odor or gas .....something the sensor may pick up that your own nose / sense of smell would not.....or is the battery getting low.....was there anything else near that may give off a small amount of acrid smell (electrical).....did the CO alarm continue after you had cleared it......did it go again afterwards....change the battery and keep your eye on it....just in case the problem is behind a panel.was it under the electric heater, what ever set it off was it coming from the electric heater maybe a small amount of dust / fluff had gotten onto the element and burt off......how long have you had the co detector as they do have a life span.....maybe ready for a change

Assuming the CO detector is not faulty, I would check the state of your batteries. Were you on EHU at the time in which case the batteries might have been under charge? I have had a CO detector go off when one cell of a leisure battery had failed and the battery was gassing. If this is the cause it needs sorting out quickly (don't charge batteries again) as the gasses given off are likely to include hydrogen.

2. check was the signal a detector low btty alarm (See instructions)
3.As suggested Check Vehicle batteries
4 If no problems dependent on age of CO2 Detector Replace Detector.

CO alarm

Happened to us couple of weeks ago. After travelling 200 miles parked for 2 hrs whilst visit to family. On returning to van Alarm started as soon as door opened. Had to remove battery to stop. replaced battery and no further alarm. Could not find a cause, gas isolated at tank windows etc all closed, no problems since!!

Think all areas covered, but check the electric heater as if some dust or hair when in the rear and burnt off then that would set the alarm off. This has set ours off before now. Ours is so sensitive it will go off if I spray the "under arm" in the bathroom area at the other side of the MH. We leave ours switched on all the time now.
