We usually treat ourselves to two or three nights on a "proper" campsite on our annual trip to France. Can anyone recommend a municipal or private site below Bordeaux and in the south west/midi pyrenees. Not too remote please. Preferably walking/cycling distance to a village/town or with a handy busstop. Flat cycling along canal or river would be nice too.

Not a lot to ask of you knowledgeable lot is it?

Can recommend St Jean de Luz there are 3 campsites just to the north of the town virtually on the beach and a great walk along the cliff tops to the town or 15 minutes along main road.

Co-ords N43.40561 W1.64216 or N43 24.337 W1 38.529 or check the ACSI book.

Have fun.

We're not down that far :cry:, but you are welcome to visit us at Parc Verger - we usually have some Funsters here (we love them) and you get a discount:thumb::thumb:
Local village (super bar/restaurant) 1km, others along a voie vert (old rail line, now with a tarmac surface) one village 4.5km, the other way 9km. Glorious countryside, chateaux everywhere, why go further south?!!
