Hi my name is Jim new to this and keen to buy a Hymer S520.Reading up for months and it would appear that buying in Germany can save lots of money compared to UK.
Any advice on this would be appreciated especially the pitfalls.
Been reading this site and I am sure the advice is out there.

I am hoping Snowbird can add his experiences here...amongst others.

I have come to the conclusion that I'd be better off getting a Hymer from Germany ...or will I?

Hi Jim and welcome to the best motorhome forum in the world.....bar none :thumb:

When I was stationed in Germany we always had to ensure that any vehicle we brought and then subsequently imported back to the UK to register and MoT etc, had to have the correct Type Approval Certificate to ensure that the vehicle meets the UK spec, which I've no doubt a German vehicle would, but it was always the case of actually getting the Certificate:Smile:

Don't know what the rules are now, but it's worth noting and passing on, just in case :thumb::thumb:

Good luck and safe motorhoming :thumb:
