my gas bottle door retainer catch has broke and my door one is no longer griping so I’ve order two new ones.

I’m presuming to fit its

1: drill off the old rivets tops
2: remove old part
3: clean up surface
4: fill any old holes with sealant
5: offer up new part and drill pilot holes
6: fix new part with adhesive ( which silkaflex is best for this?)
7: fit self tapping screws and tighten (but not too much)
8: wipe any excess adhesive away

thats all I did the other day, although I just moved the latch over a bit and then riveted it, I would also fill the old holes with sikaflex rather than sealant but I assume thats what you meant. I just buy sikaflex ebt from screwfix

personally I'd use pop rivets ... self tappers don't get a great grip on thin ally ..
