Where do you buy your fuel ? (2 Viewers)

I buy my fuel from our local independent garage.

I avoid buying fuel from supermarkets - for me it's a matter of supporting the small business, I don't mind paying more if it helps keep just one more petrol station open.

Too many have closed over the years.

Spending more than I have to comes hard to me but I am happy to fill up in remote areas and pay extra for the service.:thumb:

On the local thing I would have detour by about 3 miles each way to find a local station not part of large chain not very cost effective and About 5 pence per litre dearer I use about 100 litres a week

to be honest if you shop around and save 2p per liter and you fill up with 70ltrs (ave m/h tank) then the saving will only just buy a loaf of bread......not worth the trouble, and fuel used, hunting.

a few years ago i travelled 9 miles from home to save 2p per litre...saved myself a quid.

then the penny dropped..... the car only did around 18mpg so i used a gallon to save that quid oh:

I don't think I have ever bought fuel from a supermarket . Whenever I have tried there have been huge queues.

As I use bio diesel its a case of which take away needs it removing when in the UK. I have long range tanks fitted so when outside the UK and needing fuel I can look for the cheapest available. I do carry 235 litres of fuel so dont stop very often.

I got no choice but to buy local, no supermarket fuel here. But at £1.45 per litre of petrol, and £1.49 for diesel, and only one place to fill up with lpg on the Island at 99p, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. However, it's swings and roundabouts here, little income tax, no death duties, no inheritance tax, and no capital gains tax, balances things out a little.

the morrisons here is around 139 ltr yet across the road the bp is 143 ltr and they are not small business and if its to do with buying power then surely bp have massive buying power yet where is the saving

Supermarkets use fuel as a 'loss leader' - to get you to shop - the filling stations can't afford to sell at cost.

In the end the only independent filling stations left will be on busy routes away from supermarkets.............

Always Asda because it is the same low price in every outlet in the Uk. Unlike tesco . WHY!

well lose leader or not so long as its taking my fuel costs down then so be it
maybe the fuel companies can pressure the government better than we can to lower the tax
as for companies like bp they dont worry about us when they charge exorbitant rates on motorways i understand the small companies suffer but thats not our fault these companies probably raked in loads of cash when they had to without worrying about us as well

I used to use Tesco to get the points, but after the Mechanic showed me some atricles about the quality of the fuel from Supermarkets I now go to BP and collect Nectar Points - I use my Tesco Credit Card so still get some points.
I have only just started to do this so will be monitoring my MPG to see if it improves as he says it should. He says the Supermarket Fuel is near to its sell by date and is not so good for the diesel engines.

I use the small garage in our village. It's more expensive then the majors but is convenient. They also do my servicing and I have a very good relationship with them and trust them 100%.

Once the supermarkets have killed off all the small forecourts watch the price rocket!!

hi no local garage now so it is morrisons for us. it is next to the train station in kings lynn, so pick jill up from work do the shopping and fill up not worth driving around all about the same price. cheers colyn

I use a UK fuels card, like a credit card with the money taken monthly, consistantly 2 -4p per litre cheaper than my local Tesco.
