We stayed at Les Rivages last year. Very clean facilities and only a 10 minute walk into town. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We left Deux rivières Yesterday. Nice site on the river. We're going to go to Rivages but it didn't open until 15th. Rivières is fine. Very relaxed. Choose your own pitch. If you have satellite dish pitch 10 has a good gap through the trees.
Tap and drainage on pitch.

I have to say we were disappointed when we drove over the Millau Bridge. We saw it from below and marvelled at how spectacular it was then made our way to the nearest access point in order to drive over it, however as you cross the bridge it is not much different from the motorway and you cannot see over the edge to appreciate where you are. I find the Pont de Normandie much more exciting to drive over! :Eeek:

I totally agree with this - it is nice to look at both from a distance and from the viewing point - note that there is one which you can access without having to go over the bridge. We've been over it twice now and neither time was very exciting as you can't see anything from it!

Vertigo

Apparently it was designed like this so that stupid people like me who are afraid of heights can travel across it without becoming hysterical and causing chaos.I managed to travel all the way across with my eyes open which was just as well as due to a miscalculation I was driving instead of Nick.

In that case be sure to keep your eyes tightly shut if you are driving over the Pont de Normandie! :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the reminder, we are going to Le Havre in June, fortunately Nick has no sense of direction at all so has no idea that Pont de Tancarville is not necessarily the besy route!

We are in a campsite called Laribal near to Millau, 5 minute bike ride to Millau, huge encampment of we think circus people next door to us.
We decided to use campsite as we want to put out satellite dish and chairs, and free Wii Fi,only 10 euro a night anyway so not bad.
Going to go on a sightseeing tour tomorrow, taking in the bridge as we are 4 ton and over 3 metre high it will cost us more that for the cost of the tour just to use the bridge and as some of you have said it's just not worth the cost of using it for the sake of it.
You can see more from the ground.

We have just pulled into Deux rivières ready to do the bridge thingy tomorrow. Weather a bit chilly but hey ho it is dry. Easy walk into the town a few hundred metres. The site is filling up rapidly now. A few Brits here. Heading further South tomorrow looking for the sun. Anybody in Benidorm area right now? If so what is the weather like?

We left Millau yesterday didn't go over the bridge, maybe on the way back. We are now settled in Camping Des Mures between St Maxime and Grimaud. Nice site, fairly empty but bar and restaurant on site. Nice and sunny today. Bus stop at the site entrance so may go into St Tropez for a nosey around the Super Yachts. We met Trish and Tez in Millau zooming around on their electric bikes....great, got mine going this morning and the French kids stopped to watch this grey haired old git flying around the site like an out of control banshee. Hey Trish, did you move to Deaux Rivieres?

We are at the visitor centre of the Millau viaduct.not very busy, we are not going over it either, information centre says it's 32 euro for us so you would be the same.
And she said, she's not supposed to tell us but it's not really worth it as you cannot see anything, better views on the ground.
We are heading west to cordes sur ciel, we have lovely weather to see the bridge today.
Might see you on the way back, nice to have met you all.
Enjoy the weather in Benidorm???
Open top bus tour not operating, not enough people using it she said.

Glad we didn't do the bridge then. You mean Benidorm that well known suburb of St Tropez!?!?! Safe travels, will let you know when we heading through the Dordogne.
