Caravanning 30+ years
Good morning from a prospective new motor-homer from Cheshire I did attempt to post this last night but it seems to have disappeared into the ether.

I have been caravanning & tenting for many years I'm soon to retire and aim to do a bit of travelling around Britain I am looking for a suitable vehicle with a permanent bed for a single person but like plenty of room I may be joined by my brothers who have both retired so it looks like a four berth maybe. I need to take into account the usual, parking and running costs.

I visited Spinney motor-homes at Knutsford as I know Annette on reception and they were very helpful the first thing was to look round the various models and noticed that there was a bit of difference in quality and for the money a thought they were not to good for value and build quality I won't mention the makes to save insulting anyone should they own one and it's only my opinion anyway.
I quite liked the Bailey approach it seemed like good quality for the money so may look round for one of those but I bet there are not to many around yet.

I have also had a look round on various sites Pre-loved etc and seen a few possible ones there.

I like the site it seems to be great fun I have travelled to various countries and seen many things and never left my seat in front of the computer plus all the helpful advice I have just found the single travellers section so will have a gander at that next so any recommendations or experience of a similar set up would be helpful.

Well done all on a good and vibrant site. Albert G4OGE (ham radio)

Hi and welcome to the site, quite a few radio hams here maybe we should have a ham rally. I am guessing you may be hard pushed to find 4 separate beds but have seen some with bunkbeds fitted though not sure of the size. Someone is bound to know

Hi OK on the ham radio my brothers are also Ham's G4OGF Colin & G4XQB Brian.

I may have misled you on the beds it would be a fixed and two singles QSL.

When you get your motorhome, join us on some of the meets and we'll have a jamming session.

I also think the challenge would be to find something with separate beds and belted seats and with sufficient weight capacity to carry everyone with all kit. Just a thought! The older vans like mine have most things, but only the bar version has three seats. Might be worth a look?

Radio Rally, great idea.

There are many in this "club" who travel solo and just mix in with everyone else solo or not. Try a rally and you'll see:thumb:

Like all comedians you love them or hate them I feel happy when I watch his films and envy the way he plays the Ukulele turned out nice again makes a change from doom & gloom.

By the way he his buried in Warrington cemetery and if you listen very carefully you can ear him strumming or so I'm told.
