I want something small, portable and easy to use when we're away in the van.

It'll only be used just to check emails, Facebook, ebay etc. to save me lugging my laptop to the nearest Wetherspoons/ MaccyD when away from home.

Would this suit my needs? Are there better ones for less than £100?

Why not sell one of your mini guitar thingies and your phone and the van telly and radio and video player and get...

A Samsung Galaxy Note 2... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have a keyboard app on mine too!

Haha.. I have a basic PAYG phone, no telly or video player and a wind-up transistor radio in the van. I am just a poor wandering minstrel :roflmto:

As for selling the ukulele - not a chance! It pays for my beer and gets me into music festivals for free :ROFLMAO:

These are A+ refurbs.

I have dealt with this company many times over the years, and have just this morning bought the 10.5 version of the above.

Now I am confused!

Is that a phone or a tablet? I don't want to use it to make phone calls just temporarily replace my (big & heavy) laptop.

In edit: Okay, I guess it is a tablet that could be used as a phone. Does that mean I could put my T-mobile internet sim card, that usually fits in a dongle, into it?

For what it's worth, I have a nexus 7 and can use it all day from one charge of maybe a couple of hours, my daughter got some cheap ones for the grand kids at Xmas and although they do much the same things, they more or less have to be on charge all the time when using them:Sad:

Another thing , you will not need a satnav with one of these so that's a saving, found them far better than any cheap satnavs I have had, and constantly updated

I have been looking around for a half decent android tablet with GPS built in for my app I am working on. It seems to me if you are after one that is really usable, decent quality and has all the bits such as GPS you can't beat the Nexus 7. If you go any cheaper there are gotcha's unfortunately.

If they have small memory (storage) check that they support USB OTG.
If they are on Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly bean confirm they have at least 1GB of main memory (not the storage space)

Nexus 7 is £159 straight from Google and comes with the latest Jelly Bean.

It is a tablet. It only has wi-fi, no 3G, so cannot be used as a phone.

Hope this helps.

OK - I think I'm going to hold my breath and click on the order button for this one:

It has a fairly dated Honeycomb operating system, the good thing about Android is that you can get a free on line update to the latest Jelly bean op system. I have the similar Note 10.1 that I am more than happy with.:thumb:

SVP seem to have sold out of that 10'' version.

I hope everyone who wants one has been successful.

I'm on their mailing list, so I got my order in early, but I had a feeling they would fly out the shop.

Does anyone know if these are unlocked to any 3g network. I would have phoned the seller to find out but you have to create an account before you can get to the contact page.

Yes top notch but only 7 ins :Smile:

I think 7" is optimal to be honest. Unless you want crazy high screen resolution in which case the only choice is either Apple or Transformer.
