Sitting in my motorhome this morning there was a draught coming from the cab area about shin height.

The doors were closed properly but we didn't have a silver screen on.

Any idea where the source might be?

Most likely through the cab ventilation (heater) vents. In some cases you can switch to recirculation (before switching off ignition?) and that will prevent it. Otherwise, drape a large blanket or similar over the dash and down to the cab floor.

Also check around cab doors. Although closed they can allow draughts past their sealing rubbers.

One way of cutting the airflow down is to stuff the hollow cab section up with socks stuffed with nylon material. You can get to it from the front of the seat base lockers. the area is one scource of cab droughts. You will notice an immediate difference once you have done it. You will need long arms to get to it from both seats.

We have an elddis with an over cab bed. The draught from cab area is quite noticeable, when we dont have kids with is we pull the double quilt down over the seats to meat what ever we can find as a baracade at the bottom

They all do that Sir. If it's Ducato based.

Has it got overcab bed?If so i replaced the short curtains they fit with a thermally lined pair of drapes to the floor +2 inches and shut the cab area off if really cold.

Open your cab doors and you will find horizontal vents along the rear edges.

Covering these with duct tape will stop draughts through the holes in the door cards!:thumb:

Thats a common problem with Ducatos, if you give Glenn a call on Monday, he will be able to advise you further, pleased that you are otherwise happy with the van:thumb:
Thanks

one of the culprits is the pressed steel box section at the rear of the seat bases, it couples up with the box chassis members underneath which are fitted with rubber one way flaps for airflow. You can buy a Fiat plastic blanking stopper, the part number is 1355707080. The price each is £3.80. Obviously you will have to get on your back and get underneath to do it or if you have ramps it will be much easier. You should buy two because the opposite side might be missing. They just clip in place.

Are they handed? and is the airflow important for the running of the vehicle?
