Yes, I am. My callsign is G6PJT, bound to be others, surely?

Regards to you both.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Yep, I'm G0WHP and wife has a 2E1 callsign. Not used it since living in Spain and somewhere I have a 2mt/70cm radio.

Hmmmm... Looks like I am one of the few PROPER hams on here then, looking at the call signs ( he says with a sniff sticking his nose in the air :ROFLMAO: )

G4VEL, QTHR, active on 80, 20, 15, 10, 2 and VERY rarely 70cm

Did run GB7TDG for many years but closed it down about 8 years ago

Anyone want my WAB numbers or square ( TL88 Norfolk ) happy to arrange a sked ::bigsmile:

Seems like I can raise my nose a bit higher as my callsign is a bit older than yours! Not as active as I used to be, but I still take part in Top Band (160m) Direction Finding. In factI was out yesterday on my 65th birthday slipping around in muddy woods and getting ripped to bits in the brambles! My family do believe I'm quite mad but I'm not ready for the Sunday papers and slippers for a long time yet!
I passed my RAE in 1982 as G6HIR and did my Morse Test at the North Foreland BT Station in Kent, (an Asda now stands on the site).
Is the RAE and Morse what you mean by proper ?

What an absolute bugger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was G6HML !!!! We must have passed the same RAE but you gotr your application in a day before me !:ROFLMAO:
I remember I took the exam in December, got the results around February and the callsign did not arrive until the beginning of May.. I was an absolute plague to all the other licence holders until it arrived !

M0DWQ here ( or drinks whiskey quickly )

Must admit there is a higher number of licenced amateurs on here compared with other forums. The MCCs chair and his XYL are both licenced

Been puzzling over the fitting of a High Sierra HF screwdriver antenna on my coachbuilt van for a while. Any fellow funsters cracked this problem?

When I took on GB7TDG it more or less killed my HF activity, so sold off the triband 4 ele and the mast .. Then after I qrt'd the BBS I stuck up a G5RV and use that for 80 mtr DX and at one time very active on both 80 and 40 WAB QRG's

Still got a couple of little arrays up ( beams verticals for 70 and 2 respectively ) and of course the 'RV

I think the best times I had was while I was still a G6 and REALLY got into 2mtr DX.
At one time I built a boxed four streched 16 BCX's with a GasFet masthead amp and a home build 400 watt ( pair of 4CX250B's running about 1200 v on the anodes ) ..
Under flat conditions I was getting GB3ANG 5 x 7 ( about 400 miles ! ) and regularly worked in to Denmark and even Finland with a bit of lift..

After I got the G4 that all got sold off but the thrill of the chase was never reeally quite as good..

You still QTHR ? ( 4BB )

My call, G3SBT, is inherited so doesn't really count for finding the oldest (or longest serving) amateur. The original owner of the call is now VK3BGG. I am not really old enough to own the call. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I not only agree but use that comment frequently!
When I was a kid I couldn't imagine retirees running around, surely they all packed up their jobs, sat down and waited to die?
I haven't got time to die, there are still too many people I haven't got around to annoying yet!

Started GB7MXM and ran that for 5 years or so before getting rid of it, just next door!

Anybody passing should come to our monthly Breakfast meeting ::bigsmile: if you are in the area, good overnight parking for Motorhomes too!
