Horrendous weather in Calais today, the 90 min ferry took 3. Hours.! Force 8 gale. Ferry had problem docking. Snow covering port, no gritters so trucks getting stuck.!
Finally out of port and roads are a mess, trucks stuck everywhere.
Lucky we are in the van and have pulled onto marine drive!!
Was looking forward to a night in my comfy bed.. Seems like night 64 in the motorhome.
Luckily turkish delight hot chocolate is at hand....

Hastings was bad today, no phones or broadband at warehouse and only Royal Mail and TNT collected today. Interlinks van was in a ditch!

Doesn't sound good. We cross tomorrow. Hope the snow in the tunnel isn't too deep and the train doesn't pitch too much in the cross winds.

Check the weather now and later.. i have local radio on and its seems a problem even up as far as the M25.. Good luck...

no. JJ. the van is one made up from a U lounge.. I got a nice 6 foot wide one waiting for me at home... However the views are usually better from the van and change regular.. :thumb:

Look on the bright side - you didn't drive off the ferry in a steamed up saloon car with two sweaty mutinous teenagers in the back whose last meal was crisps and whose mobile phone batteries are running flat. I remember once being stuck in a long ferry queue during a French fishermens' blockade, looking down into the car next to us and thinking it's times like this when camper vans come into their own.

There is a jack knifed lorry at the top but they are moving him, then they have to go wake all the truck drivers...
