I have a 2007 Kon-Tiki 669, when using the shower, we get a small pool of water on the kitchen floor next to the wall.

I can see a crack near the bottom of the shower wall about 4 inches long, just above the floor tray. Two repair guys have seen it, one said he could replace the floor and the other said because of how the cubicble is welded together, replacing the floor was not a option, he would have to cut-out the area where the crack is and fit a new piece in.

How do I find out which one knows what he is doing?

Also need a new step as the motor has gone. Both these repairs are covered by a insurance backed warranty.

Ideally want it done in Midlands/Staffs area.

Any ideas, suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Steve

cant say for sure who is correct but i can offer a temporary fix.

B&Q sell a self adhesive shower sealing strip which is very flexible (silicone) and the position of the crack is ideally situated for this strip to work.

comes on a roll approx 1.35mtrs long and is 41mm wide so could be trimmed to fit between the two upright joints making it a neat and cheap repair

Brother in law had a cracked shower tray in his Autotrail, local service center pumped some "Gung" under the tray through the split then seam welded the split it for him. that was about 10 months ago. all seems well.

good luck:thumb:

The important thing is WHY ?

The terrible answer is probably because it's all gone pear shaped under the shower and it's not supported properly.

I'd not be happy with anything less than somehow getting the bottom out and seeing what is underneath.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, what is underneath does concern me.

I might just have to take it back to the dealer and have them do it (they have been talked about a lot on here recently (;0). I am a little concerned about stories I have heard about their service skills. Plus I was trying to avoid 2 x 150 mile round trips to drop it off and fetch it back, with both MH and Car.

Might have no choice.

Thanks again.

Be concerned !

I've just removed an area of plywood floor under the toilet with a paint scraper. Water is bad news in a timber framed mobile house. Worse, I don't know where the water is coming from, yet.

Oh dear Brian, that doesn't sound good. Bloody Germans are turning out such rubbish.

Sure it's not where you've been missing the target :winky:
