its the saltfleet gala weekend again on the 10/11th of august, we had about 35 vans last year and entered a team in the tug of war ,which we won

Saltfleet is on the east coast not far from Grimsby
We can't make it this year booked for edinburgh tattoo
great weekend last year and car boot on the sunday

Hi Chris, as already mentioned on the pm, unfortunately we also cannot make it as we are also away in Edinburgh. Such a shame, as your gala weekend is always a great weekend. Also means not available for the tug o war team, hope you other funsters can do us proud and retain our title! If Edinburgh gets cancelled then we will be there without a doubt. BUt somehow don't think it will get cancelled. :Sad:

We might struggle with the T.O.W. this year if everyones off to the Tattoo. Is most of the bacon rota gang going :Sad:
I doubt it will get cancelled Andrea , unless theres a death in the royal family
Dont let Ralph know your going him and Moira have been trying to get me to go for years,( Id rather stick pins in my eyes)

i will post more details for the entertainment and whats happening as soon as i know , but there will be a few live groups , beer tent ,hog roast and other food stalls as well as plenty for the kids to do , large car boot on the sunday

ha ha yeap sadly we all going Bev, would of cancelled and done Saltfleet but we all already paid over £70 each

Hi there

We are relatively local to Saltfleet, if you are a member of caravan and camping then there is a beautiful little cl at Theddlethorpe. The guy offers free fishing and free golf too.
There is also a large site at North Somercotes, known locally as Lake Side Lido. If you have dogs they make you take a super pitch.
And of course just up the coast there are one or two near and around cleethorpes, or down the coast there are many many sites at Mablethorpe etc.,

btw guys anyone interested in the Hog Roast, then make sure you get there early, as they run out fairly quickly!

This really is a superb event, we have been blessed with glorious sunshine last year with a little wind and rain thrown in the year before, but good drainage land, Very flat and grassy. couple of nice pubs within easy walking distance. What more could you ask.:thumb:
