Without having a little more detail it is difficult to give advice but having owned an Autosleeper of similar vintage, but a different model, I have to say they are a sound buy. It has a monocoque body so will be free from damp unless it has been involved in a scrape, so look for any bodged bodywork repairs. I had problems with the seal on the windows perishing so check for signs of damp around the windows and sky lights.
The Autosleeper we had included electric heating via ehu, as well as by gas and a gas fire so make sure all these work; testing them independantly.
Providing your mh is of a reasonable mileage and has been well looked after you should have few if any problems.

Happy hunting

Norman

Think [HI]Pollensa is coachbuilt[/HI] but thanks for advice.

Pollensa IS a coachbuilt, and one of several similar MONOCOQUE designs so chances of water ingress is slim due to NO Seams........I think that is what Norman is saying........:thumb:

Check when cambelt was changed, check tyres for cracking (perishing), just two of many things. Perhaps most important, check that the seller actually owns it :winky:

Front cross members rot out - easy bolt on repair and only £80 to buy....but a good bargaining chip!

Look under bonnet. Just above the gearbox, there is a drain - see if it has been extended and put behind the gearbox or not - the drain pipe leads from your windscreen scuttle panel. A design flaw caused it to dump onto the gearbox mount, which caused water to get into the gearbox...which takes you to,

Gearbox - DO DRIVE, VERY Stiff into 1st/reverse and crunching when cold may suggest water ingress (high pressure) if very bad it will manifest itself with a flicker to the speedo needle. Gear linkages can also be an issue where they stand for long periods and the two often get confused.

1.9 may be a little underwhelming on a coach built. But can return reasonable MPG when driven well. 2.5 n/a better of the two - but still not fast!
