I can, and have, smiled as I clung to the undercarriage of a light aircraft at 14,000ft, But do I have the courage to drill a hole in my motorhome? NO

Yes indeed
I was going to write a list of tools required etc.
No.1 on the list would be
Big balls :ROFLMAO:

Very good job.

Just a question.

Why not a sliding window?

As the door can't now be opened if the window is open.

But i think this window is more secure.

Just wondered.

Great job great photo's.

I whould s----- myself if I did that to my motorhome.

A sliding window at 500 wide would not fit, that is the smallest manufactured.
Closer inspection will reveal I removed the window stays. It will never be opened.

Next important job will be a Fiamma 77 bike rack, anyone fitted one to the back of their Rapido? the manufacturer fixing points are well off centre with another set of fixing points provided for a ladder. I have no intention of fitting a ladder and dont want my bike rack to look a pilchard so it is going centre

Realy interested in the bike rack fitting.

How do you know where the fixing points are?

Will you post photo's when you fit the rack please.

Thanks

If you look at an angle across the rear wall in good light you will see 4 horizontal rectangles for the rack and 4 vertical ones to the left side for the ladder. Eddie reckons they're tapping points or expanding nut cavity fixing points to save drilling right through the wall.

Yes I'll post pictures :thumb:

Here's a picture from Phil's Gallery (Rhinoinstalls)
https://picasaweb.google.com/104848449218406347261/Fiamma#5683107989801507538

All the fixings whether using the rapido fixing points or not end up in the garage or the bedroom lockers, at least on a 7090 they do.

Looking at the picture the Rapido fixings for the rack are in the centre for the left upper and lower fixings and 600 to the right of those for the right hand fixings at about the same heights as shown

hesitate to ask .........but as you know my rapido is similar in a lot of ways to yours and I want to put a 240v socket under front lounge seating but have not worked out how they have hidden(route etc.) cables to existing kitchen socket any clues?

Why hesitate?
They go from the mains distribution board through a slot below it
CA_02061414325290-M.jpg

and between the floors down the nearside of the van (go round the wheel arch) then under the shower and you'll find a single white flex if you look in the boiler external door. It goes up to the kitchen socket from there. You can run a cable from there down and under the water tank and the seat over the gas locker to here.
If you lift the hinged lid up here you can remove the bottom of the interior

I just fitted one here too so wifey can sit on the bed to dry her hair. It's not possible standing up as she keeps clattering the ceiling. I had to pull a new cable for this as Rapido have taped cables together under the floor so I could not divert them.

Strange? your window doesn't look any wider than 48cm wide x 94cm long as is fitted in many different models of Rapido's from 2007- 2010 the dimensions I'm quoting here were the actual size of the Dometic Seiz Excite fitted by Rapido:RollEyes:

Rapido simply do not put a window here on 7090 models because of space restrictions.
I fitted mine out of necessity and it worked out well for a couple of hundred squids.

A right hand drive 7090 in UK is fine. A left hand drive 7090 in Europe is fine.
A left hand drive 7090 in UK is dangerous without the mod if you don't have a passenger.

Blind spot only occurs on wide junctions turning left. There is nothing wrong with my mirrors but only super man can see through a wall !

A right hand drive vehicle will experience the same in Europe on wide junctions turning right.

By the way Andy I approached your Topic as I intend to fit the 'Missing window' on the Dethleffs Advantage T6571:Smile:
Dethleff dealers fit if requested a 43cm x 53cm Seiz window between the Hab' door and cab door and call it a Dethleffs part:Doh:..as far as Im aware no MH manufacture makes sash windows!
Door retainer/stop Your right, but I have already taken into consideration regarding the door stop/retainer, I intend to fit a Seiz sash window vertically 45cm wide x 60cm length so the sash open's from the top this will mean moving the door stop, So far I am creating a shock absorber type stand off which the door stop will attach to plus a Temp plate for the aperture. I know from your topic that you used your Makita cordless jig saw, a well made unit (I have many Makita power tools) but that particular tool in the 18volts variety is for me is too heavy.

I know you did this a couple of years ago but I was wondering if you remembered the paint code for the frame? I fitted one in 2011 but I mixed the colour by hand because I couldn't get a good enough match.

Most manufacturers don't fit top hung opening windows next to doors.
On a windy day an open window can soon be knocked off by a swinging door.

A slider wouldn't be available in that size so caution is required IMO.
