Four days in, three days to go.

I went to both the spring and autumn show last year.

Not sure how I feel about it a present.

What about the Funsters? Going? Been? Can't be bothered?

We are also going to the NEC tomorrow (Friday).

I think they are expecting / hoping to be busy at the weekend, Travelworld at Telford have their showroom closed on Saturday to put all their staff at the show (according to their website).

Just spent two days there. Two hours is enough to see it all; Well almost. Only an hour If your not interested in caravans. Not a patch on the Autumn show.

We are there as usual running the Fiamma stand, all in red Fiamma shirts and not blue Johns Cross ones !

Although Chris is on the Swift stand in a Johns Cross blue one most if the time and going on the Pilote and Autotrail stands if people ask for him.

Been a good show so far, much better than the Excel show.

Hi.

I went on Tuesday and managed to get the bits I wanted, plus a few others:Doh:

The show is not as big as the original one at the NEC but there are a good number of stands. I spent about 5 hours wandering around.

Much better location than that stupid idea of inside the London no go zone.

Have a word with Darren on the Fiamma stand as I am sure we have what you need on our website and we can deliver it to you at home etc :thumb:

Having done the NEC a couple of times we decided not to bother in future.. Much prefer the outdoor shows because of the chance to get together en-mass with Funsters, more ( many more ! )stalls, and we found there are usually a whole lot more bargains to be had too !

Well we came up last night nothing particular we are looking for but I would agree with Jim unless you are looking for a new caravan or motor home you will be disappointed as there is very little new to look at. We planned on two days here but will definitely finish this afternoon

I'd be surprised if it runs again next year! I think it was Dometic said that it is reduced from 12 halls down to 4 :Eeek:

Bet they didn't reduced the entrance price though lol

Well we have been to the show.
Fortunately we only live 10 miles from the NEC and had 2 complimentary tickets, not a lot going on.

They were 3 deep at Brit Stops, so we carried on....and the Fiamma stand didn't have stock of what I wanted. Cup of coffee and a biscuit from Brownhills, and back home - no money spent!

One of the organisers was heard to say he had a waiting list of 110 traders trying to get on site but they didn't have the space., I find that hard to believe, but maybe they were restricted to only those halls and it's the truth.

Take away the mobile homes and endless rows of caravans and there really was very little to see for the motorhome enthusiast. Seemed to be plenty of people though, so the traders that were there will do OK.

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
I could do with something between the 2 in size. Big enough to feel you've had a good day out and not been ripped off on the entrance price and small enough to get round. Even though it did take you all day to do so.

Oh dear, that would be value for money, wouldn't it ......

Pretty gobsmacked at the 110 traders, at those prices for a stand, Jim?

What puts me off a bit with the smaller traders is no space in between the stalls and if there's a load where people are demonstrating the new must have egg fryer or something, there will be a crowd so then you miss summat you might be interested in like Jim's tyre valves or summat. Or they put all the 'campsites' together and you have to fight off the folk wanting to load you up with posh/expensive campsite brochures for Serbo-Croatia when you are looking for Vicarious Books !

I worked for a specialist broker once who did a Classic Vehicle scheme so we exhibited at the shows. You either got stuck up a corner next to the hot dog stand one side and the lavatories the other or they'd put all of us in a flipping row. There was a specific scheme for a certain popular margue and it made much more sense to me to stick us near that - so the Club lads could say go and see that young lady there. Or opposite the Armstrong Siddeley etc exhibit so at least I could sit and drool at their cars! Or Fire Engines - anything interesting to look at!

There are around 60 large shows per year.

Some are better than others.

It costs exhibitors a lot of cash to move vehicles, build stands, hire space, feed and accommodate staff etc etc. These costs ultimately need to be recouped from somewhere.

Once a company thinks it needs to exhibit to get sales it all becomes a vicious circle.

We are picking up the tab. The profits go to the organisers.

A few years now had a break but back with a MH now
just spent two days there had quite a good time - camped on site Thursday night bloody expensive wont do that again - free entertainment in the marquee 63 year old soul singer etc with a backing tape (crap) but managed a few pints of tetleys.

As I am new to motor-homing bought some good bits and as paid cash managed to get discounts!
