Can anyone tell me what the strip of plastic is called that is used to attach a drive awning to the motorhome awning rail. Am I looking for two strips or one combined strip that will make the connection?
Sounds daft but I can't figure out how you can easily detach the awning if you want to drive out for the day. Confused.com!

Now it makes sense. We bought a 2nd hand awning from Ebay but it didn't come with anything to attach it to the awning rail, other than attaching the awning direct, which didn't seem a good idea if wanting to drive away!
Thanks for links people.

its called a figure 8 strip but be careful, there are two sizes available.

from memory theres an 8mm and a 5mm...you should need the smaller one for a fiamma/omnistore type awning

In order to detach the awning you can just pull the fig 8 strip out at one end of the awning - our strip came in three sections which I feel is the easiest to handle.

Thanks Deanroofing, we used to have the type that you throw over for our other van (in fact I think we still have it somewhere, in the black hole that is our shed). Unfortunately it will not fit the current van.
