I noticed at Newark that the dongle used on the Motorhomefun exhibit was elevated at the end of a usb lead.
Not thinking then, I wonder now why this was necessary and if indeed it is a normal requirement inside a motorhome?

Thanks to the couteous chap who explained about Motorhomefun at Newark.
As you can realise, he did a good selling job!

Welcome Vansmudge

I think you will find that the extra long lead is about picking up a signal, the dongle is the same as phones some places get a better signal.

The dongle was only on an extension cable on our Newark stand so that I could keep it out of the way. The signal at Newark was excellent and it didn't need it but an extension lead can come in handy in getting a good signal.

Glad you joined. Welcome to the fun:thumb:

My dongle sits velcro'd to the top of my laptop. The Satellite is hundreds of miles up - a few extra feet ain't gonna matter::bigsmile:

Oh, and :welcome: to the site ::bigsmile:

Except the signal is not coming from a satellite is it?
