It is supposed to appear as a smiley like this: A smiley can be inserted from a menu which appears when you write a post, but you can also manually enter the code for each smiley.

However, the Forum software changed last year and older posts used a different system which doesn't recognise the code used on the previous version. Under the old system a smiley with a thumb was written :thumb: but this forum software ignores that. To create a here it needs ( y ) but without the spaces between the brackets and the y.

Oh, and please accept this week's Dead Thread Resurrection Award.
