If you are going down through France into Spain in late April or early May, drive through a department (county) called the Lozere.
Its not well known - a bit if France that the French keep secret.
Head for Mende and then visit a local area call the Aubrac. Spectactuar gorges, cliffs, mountains covered in wild daffadils in the spring.
Plenty of places for wilding and lots of aires.
Finish off with a visit to the tallest road viaduct in the world at Millau.
