Just for a laugh
Lets list the lessons the Germans could teach the Americans

Lesson 1. It does not require 28000 staples per square foot to hold a carpet in place:thumb:

They use more than that mate::bigsmile:

Maybe the Germans will be able to convince them that Laura Ashley flower patterns are no longer in fashion:Smile:

Depending who they partner with, a motorhome with the best of the American and German technology would be well worth importing.

Can't remember ;)
In all the times we have been to the U.S. I can never remember seeing a Fiat derived van  or car for that matter other than Ferrari etc, I wonder if they would be better sticking it on a Merc/Dodge chassis? At least it is a known brand/base out there ::bigsmile:

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
They redesigning everything in feet inches pounds and gallons then?

Cos they'll have to spikka da language, won't they? otherwise the natives won't be able to understand.

Hymer fabrics can easily revert to the same frog green and orange tartan uncut moquette they used in our old Hymer caravan I'm sure, dead easy. Pre-cassette loo days, so that was NP - but the bathroom walls and the washbasin were the same shade of green!

As were were siting the van anyway, we removed the washbasin and the upholstered decor panel on the wood grain wall outside the bathroom, papered the bathroom walls with white self patterned washable wallpaper, added a porta-potti, had the cushions reupholstered in dralon and made new curtains .......

:ROFLMAO:

But actually, I do wish them well. Not so sure they'll achieve it though .....

Suppose Hymer could teach the Americans how

to build an RV without a slideout :ROFLMAO:

to build an RV without proper holding tanks :ROFLMAO:

to build an RV with a tiny fridge freezer :ROFLMAO:

to build an RV without a generator :ROFLMAO:

to build an RV with front wheel drive that chews up the damp grass :ROFLMAO:

to build an RV without a queen size bed

That'll be good :RollEyes::RollEyes:

And teach the Americans how to put the driving seats in the middle of an RV, well away from the side windows, and at least 10ft from the front screen with swathes of plastic surrounding the dash. Nice.........

  1. Plenty of people don't want slideouts, they do swap payload for space
  2. Hymer have long had the option of marine toilets
  3. Some of us are real ale drinkers and don't need to fill freezers full of pop
  4. Some of us like the option to be able to leave our gennie at home now and again
  5. Hymers build more rear wheel drive Motorhomes than anyone else in Euroland
  6. Plenty of Hymers have large double beds, the average yank would break it, but then have you seen their portion sizes.

Think that's all your points returned::bigsmile:

Jokeing apart, they will sell well in te US no they will never take the place of a 30' plus RV with slides and bags of payload........but they will have an impact on the 5+ltr van conversions such as roadtrek who now are using sprinter chassis and the like the 23' somthing B class will also see competition from them.........will be interesting if they ever put slides in one but they will need a heavier chassis and a bigger engine for towing.........just my thoughts of course. as for the carpet they may not use as many staples just glue it down so you never get it up again :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

All the best Rick

Maybe Hymer will have to use some colour too! Instead of the grey/gray undercoat looking finish to their 'flagship' S-class as of late.

Whoever thought or thinks that grey is a colour ultimately needs therapy.
