Just bought a hobby 750gelc, it's got a Truma Trumatic unit in it.
The instruction manual is for both the C6002 and the C4002, I'm not exactly sure what one I've got. (as far as I can tell, mine is gas only).
The heating part is working fine, and I have hot water, but when I set it to heating and water to 60 degrees, the heating light stays green, but the, hot water light stayed Amber, even after 3 hours.
The water is getting VERY hot, what happens is quite strange, if we leave the heater/water setting to 60, then the orange light will not go out, and the van starts to get that "smell" of things getting too hot.

So then i turn the thing completely off, and on again and the light is out.

So it makes me think that some sort of cut-out switch is not operating when the water gets to 60
Am I missing something obvious?

i took it to Brownhills, who agreed that there was a fault, possibly with the thermostat.

(incidentally they left us sitting. waiting for over 2 1/2 hours for a 2 min discussion, then charged us ÂŁ21 - Guess where we won't be buying our next van)

Hi. I've got a Hobby 750 but it's fitted with a different Truma boiler to yours.

Did you buy it from Brownhills? If so, surely they should sort the problem under warranty?

Ah ok, I misinterpreted the Brownhills reference.

It might be worth doing a search of these forums as I think there have been a number of threads about Truma boilers and 'burning' smells.

Hope you soon get it sorted so that you can enjoy your van properly.

Might be a daft question, but have you taken the outside cover off the water heater vent?

No its lighting fine just not shutting off when water reaches temp.
Heating side working fine
If I turn it off when water is hot and immediately switch it on then light indicating water heating stays out and all is okay which suggests a thermostat or similar problem?

Well if it's not under warranty I'd get it checked out by a motorhome service engineer. I can recommend a very good one in the Peterborough area but that's a bit of a way from Rickmansworth. Who do you usually use?

Probably be Elite near Banbury

Ok, so still quite a way to have to travel.

There's a list of mobile engineers at: Link Removed

Or you could maybe post asking for engineer recommendations in the Rickmansworth area.

Here is the link to the Truma website page where you can locate dealers and engineers. In the middle of the page is a link to download a pdf listing trained mobile dealers.
