If you're like me you probably have a drawer or box full of computer cables.. cables for cameras, phones, usb, hdmi, et al.. and no matter how organised I try to be they always end up mixed up.. You look for a cable and you have to try several before you find the correct one.. and no matter how you organise they end up like a birds nest ..

To get a grip on this I bought a pack of 4" Cable Tie Marker I.D Ties which have a tag you can write on using a fine permanent marker pen .. It won't stop them getting tangled but it will cut down the frustration of finding the correct cable... Since buying I've found several other uses..

Ties and marker pen .. from Amazon

I'm new to it
Mark uses self seal food bags .. The Waitrose freezer bags are ideal as they come in 3 sizes -
Cable on .. Write on the "label" what the cable I is and close the bag ... Its like a sort of zip top so you can open and reclose ...

Easy to find the one you want and no tangled rats nest of wires

For those of you with a better half. A tip I used to use was I borrowed her entire collection of nail varnish. I put a little dab of colour on each type of plug and a matching blob on the device in question. She did have every colour of the rainbow though and not just 100 different shades of red.

This was especially useful for USB cables. Micro/Mini/Normal size types etc.
